  1. Personally I think it kinda depends on where the machine is going to be. I started out with an outdoor can machine. 70-80 vends a week. Hit walmart, or cvs during their sales and stock up. When I started going with bottle machines, I put one next to my can machine. Can sales dropped by 5-6vends a week, but the bottle machine was doing about 20-25 vends a week vs can machine still doing around 60 vends a week faithfully unless there was snow on the ground.. Like Mission said, cans have a very nice shelf life over bottles. As for cans, my observations, I was looking at a shelf life of a couple months, where as for bottles I was looking at 4-5 weeks!!! If you want the standard 20oz bottles, you are going to have to go with the bottler, And in my area, they aren't cheap. When I got out of vending, Coke products were 78cents/ 20oz bottle and pepsi products were running 82cents/20oz bottle Plus, bottlers in my area wouldn't full fill an order unless I ordered a minimum of 10 cases, or $200-$250 worth of product. Unless you have several machines, your wasted product (expired) will put you in the hole/red pretty quick!!! Best of luck!!
  2. I feel your pain..... When my job went to china and Mexico, I found myself turning in resume after resume. Aplication after aplication. I finally went into the pizza business. My very young daughters at the time thought that was the coolest thing. As for me, it was somewhat of an embarrasment. I started vending and it grew and grew. It got to the point where my wife left me. her thoughts were, "vending isn't a job, how can I continue living the life style I am used to by you playing with gumball and soda machines all the time... We have been working on things for the last 7months. I sold my routes and paid everything off. All we have is utilities and insurance.... no loans to speak of.. My wife is talking about moving back in the first of April. Just keep your nose to the grindstone so to speak and everything will work out for you.
  3. if you have peyton manning, might as well trade him!! stupid pansy golpher!!!!!!!!!!! So much for the colts... My team is going to suck this year!
  4. Thats right steve, start kissing golpher now in an attempt not to be beaten so bad!!!!!!!
  5. Last season we didn't want to cause "the guy with the tie to cry like a baby" due to getting his butt kicked. but its all out war this season!!! Mrs. C, better stock up on the tissues!!! And I was the one to cause the odd number of teams, So I guess that means I will be the odd ball that gives Steve his defeat!
  6. Stevie boy is going DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in!
  7. Congrats on the Golden Corral/Marsh route. I have serviced a GC in Indy as a 3rd party for 6 years and it is a great location. Used to be in Marsh as well. Key to success for these two customers is keep 'em very clean and keep them full. We lost Marsh 6 yrs ago because of old equipment that was not attractive. Looks like you have nice equipment in there now. Congrats again and good luck.

  8. Thanks guys. I didn't know that I had to select items for inline.
  9. Is there a way I can set up the forum to have a pop up when I have a new pm? Since the new forum conversion there have been times I finally noticed a pm and it was over 3-7 days old.
  10. Hang in there bro, We know it will be a long road ahead but we are behind you every step of the way!

  11. *sigh* going to be a long weekend without home internet. dang storms!!!

  12. Waiting for that phone call to say when to bring a machine in, Stinks! I HATE waiting!

    1. mainor5251

      mainor5251

I second the waiting thing, waiting for stuff to arrive from A&A, Brand, Quill, Rhode Island Novelty, and another bulk vendor. Also having to wait till Saturday to go get the 20 A&A doubles

  13. The new coke rep I have now, wants to personally go to the location and inspect it himself. And will not let me have one "on hand" so to speak. I wanted to keep the monster machine on hand for when the initial location backed out on me at the last minute. The coke rep I used to have before he got promoted, said I could have 15 machines in my garage if I wanted, as long as I updated him on where they were at in case of a corporate audit and as long as I kept up my quota of 100cases /yr /machine.
