  1. Plain old 850 gum. I have bars where gum does quite well. But sometimes a location just isn't very good
  2. What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what its all about??
  3. Kelly is not a good pick for small operators. Try Quality Plush or Coast 2 Coast
  4. They were produced as a toy not as a vending machine
  5. Toad may be harsh but he is being honest. The stuff is junk. If these toy and joy machines were the way to go toy and joy would still be in business. Going into the vending business with these machines is like opening s laundry mat with ringer washers or moving company using covered wagons. Ultimately who is more unkind, a brutally unpolitically correct observer or someone pandering to a mistaken belief. If Toad guy really wanted to hurt people he would tell you to buy all the toy and joys you can find, buy only 8 select uturns for charity, replace your northwesterns with Chinese knock offs, and but all your supplies from an online reseller.
  6. They really aren't worth anything from an operating point of view. Not to be negative, but truthful, Toy N Joys were crappy forty years ago when they were new.
  7. I am sure there are some somewhere , venders used to use a lot of the big oaks on the bottom of racks for one inch caps , gum and candy. Things have changed you used to need that size machine on the bottom!!
  8. No thanks needed. glad to help. Hey pm when you get a chance may have a lead for you.
  9. Naw, all gone. Most mines here were strip mines, They were at #6 ( vein) at 120 feet and didnt think #7 was worth going after, too deep. They bought a bunch more land but the Farmers packed the county board and the mine couldn't get a permit. Hated to see it go, lots of high paying jobs. But strip mines basically turn the earth upside down and ruin the water table, lakes and streams. So its a double edged sword. A lot of local towns sure felt the closings too.
  10. The best charity stop I ever had was a Coal Mine, had machines in the break rooms, no stands they all were just on the picnic tables the guys used. Salted nuts and gum, hot heavy work and no smoking anywhere. The best loaction and best people ever.
  11. I suspect the material may be Chutzpahzium. A common Element but not often seen in a refined state.
  12. Oh sure, so if something is nothing the next time someone asks me what time it is do I reply "it isn't " . Rats another comforting illusion gone.
  13. An idea before its time?
  14. Didnt we run into L. Spears at a show Ron?
  15. Whos fast food are you using? cardinals sells for me but A&A doesnt
  16. Northwestern for racks, oak for charity, A&A PO89 series, (the Pn are junky), I base this on ease and speed of service for the application noted, longevity, and quality. A&A machines are a knock off of everyone elses so they will never be a top pick.
  17. Quickbooks for the real accounting. Make your own database/spreadsheet using excell or someting like it for locations. The canned bulk programs are all overkill for bulk (more work than the data they collect is worth). Bulk is not full line and you need to simplify the data collection because you do not have the same margins as in full line. In bulk you can walk in the door of a location and immediately tell if you have the wrong product. What you need is software that gives you the location name and address, the equipment on site, the products in them (for picking your load) and gross sales data. Tracking each products sales is counterproductive and will cost more in labor than its worth. As far as routing use MS Streets and Trips.

    Locating

Thanks to Ron, I have used MS S&Trips for years. Yes it really is the most effective mapping tool I have used so far.
