bulkjake
Hey vending people, what model / brand coin counter are you using to count your quarters? How do you like it? I may be looking for a new one. Thanks!
Action Vending
Mostly i use belita which has electic and hand crank in one model. I would like to move to a scale to save alot of time.
CoinOpman
I've found the scale type counter is much faster to operate. You just need to periodically check and calibrate the scale. The scale I use is made by Acucount model AC-
andyinchville
I use an older Brandt MOdel 957 I got off eBay...It's great because it will count and sort all the change for me....Another good feature is it will kick out all the dollar coins from the quarters....I found over 15 since in about 3 months! allstar2200
Just a simple Royal Sovereign FS-40A About $100 and sorts up to 40.00 automatically and rolls
Action Vending
Just a simple Royal Sovereign FS-40A About $100 and sorts up to 40.00 automatically and rolls That would take forever with alot of counts. I use a magner 110 for my sorting and a belita for single counts and rolling. Both are about 600 coins per minute. I would like to eventually get a cummins jet sort for the sorter. U R Right though, not for extremely high volume.
will.vend
I bought this counter 5 years ago and I use it most every work day.I have not had any problems with it at all. http://www.acedepot.com/ribao-cs-30.html
TCCvending
i am using cassida c100 at the moment. I have some problems with it. 1. when you coin with these coin counters, you are telling people that you have money(cause they make noises. i mean alot of noises). 2. they usually need an outlet. 3. it is just not fast enough for me. it is doing 300 coins/ min. I have most accounts in bad neighborhood and it attracts alot of attention, maybe this doesnt apply to you. i d k. I have been thinking about switching to coin scale and sell this c100 out -ed
nepavend
I started with a plastic hand operated royal sovereign, then got the royal sovereign electric counter with 40.00 at a time. Two years ago I got a Klopp Coin Scale 60lb and it was the best $450 I ever spent. Saved a ton of time servicing. I am thinking about a hand crank or electric sorting machine to sort out quarters from nickels, dimes, and other change.
PowerVendor
Acucount AC603 - $399 new. It works pretty well and can be powered via AC or batteries. I used it for keeping location counts and let the $10,000 counter at the bank do the rest.
Billnuts
for small stops i use a 10lb lightweight small scale for larger stops where speed and time is a issue I use a brandt / delarue kicks out pennies, dimes, tokens and leaves the quarters i modifed mine with a magnet strips to pick up canadian. bill

Action Vending
Is there a cheaper scale that i could buy because i use food scales at some locations that they have there and because $10 equals a half pound do a bit of math and figure out the total. Billnuts
here is a link http://www.walmart.com/ip/Oneida-Digital-Kitchen-Scale/16486675 this works great 1/2 lb is 10.00 1 lb is $20.00 99% accurate and good for fast counting on the go

At that price it's practically disposable. But, since you don't want to lose your scale half-way through a busy day of servicing, I would only worry about the fact that there is no carrying case to protect this unit from the rigors of loading/unloading the work-truck. Did you buy a case for this or do you take it on location as-is?

Action Vending
So how do you guys that uses scales pay the commission to the location. I roll quarters with my counter. Do you roll them by hand with the scale, or just give them to them in bulk?

Do you roll them by hand with the scale, or just give them to them in bulk? I give them loose quarters in bulk. But, I put them in small paper bags purchased at Sams. I have a self-inking stamp from Vista Print that reads "Thank you, from --- ---" (my business name). I stamp the bag and write the cash amount on the bag. Never had a complaint from a location doing it this way.
BareBones
I use a manual Klopp counter / wrapper and love it. I take on the road to count each location to chart location performance, do a total count for the day and then wrap. Some of the best money I ever spent on coin handling, really saves a LOT of time. I bought two 6 digit stamps from office depot that I use to stamp the coin wrappers with my account number, drop the coins off at the bank for deposit and no commissions. There is a machine that is electric that is made by several companies like Brandit, that will count / wrap and sort (not all at the same time), that you can get for $200-250. I've considered getting one just to sort out foreign coins, but it's really not that much of a problem, I get about 2 foreign coins every 1000 coins. Nick505
I just used a Klopp CM coin counter today. I have to say that was the best and faster counter I have used. I will be making a purchase of one in the near future.
Action Vending
I will be buying a scale because It much faster than any counter and my counters right now are really fast any way.
Nick505
1200 coins per minute and 100% accurate...I'm not sure you can beat that lol
QBTCoin
I use a Klopp model CE. That's the electric motor one, I've also owned the CM(hand crank) and prefer the electric one. It's heavy enough to hold a bag of $1000 in quarters without falling off the table. I'd suggest going with a used one, since $1300 for a new one is a bit steep.
