kimba
My wife had a vendor at her business with an 8-1 UTurn machine dispencing toys.. They felt they could make more money elsewhere so are taking the machine out. We decided to do it ourselves, she wanted the same thing she had, so I found a couple of the 8-1 machines for pretty cheap. I will take one and put candy in it and place it by my desk at work, and she will fill the other up with the toys she as been doing. Here is my problem... I only have two of the gumball wheels used to dispence the toys and we need 6 more. We contacted UTurn and they ask CRAZY high prices for these parts. Does anyone have a good source for parts like these? Or does anyone have these wheels for sale? Your help is very appreciated. and I look forward to reading your comments and advise. Thank you Kimba I currently have two single machines at my desk that have skittles and hot tamallies, and I do between 5 and 10 $ a week. Everyone keeps asking for something different, so I figure the 8 in 1 should do pretty well.
GagesVending
A small bulk rack would be better for dispensing toys. I'm not sure where you could get a good deal on some gumball wheels for UTurn. Most members here are not the greatest fans of UTurn for many reasons. I'd recommend dumping the machine on Craigslist and getting either a small bulk rack for vending toys and or a 1800 triple. For many locations, a triple is sufficient. Here's what a 1800 looks like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triple-1800-Candy-and-Gumball-Machine-with-the-large-removable-canisters-1-800-/190833270372?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c6e8c9e64 I'd shop around of course because that's too much to pay, but it's a step in the right direction. Thank you, I have read much about and understand the problems with the UTurm machines, however what the wife wants is what she had. She knows it works for her and space is very limited. I will have to make due with what we have. (read that a happy wife is a happy life). Her part of this is more of a promotional deal. Each of her young clients gets a token to buy a prize. The business is in our home and the 8-1 fits perfectly in the limited space we have. Thanks for the advice though.. Kimba
newheart53
There's nothing wrong with u turns. There was a guy on here that had a bunch of parts but sold out to another person. I am still in contact with him and will find out some info for you.

Kimba Okay, understanding your situation a Uturn would probably be just fine. It doesn't sound like you're planning on using them on a professional level, so you don't need to spend the extra money on the professional grade equipment for use at a retail establishment. In home, it won't take much abuse, so your Uturn should be sufficient. You could post a classifieds ad to reach out the Uturn operators specifying what you are looking for and how much you are willing to pay.
deee_z
I have a U-turn and the shop it is in, the guys find a way to cheat the mech and give free candy. I have tried to twist the handle over and over again to get free candy but no can do. I just left the 2 heads empty and filled the 1-800 up all of the way. I don't like U-turns! I am sorry you have had a bad time of it. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond. Let me explain again, if I may, I am not looking for opinions on the machine nor experiences good or bad. I simply want to find the parts I need to make my wife happy... I would really rather this thread not get hijacked with reviews, lets try and keep it to relevant information, As I am not the only person out there with these machines and I am sure that this post could easily help others too. Not trying to be mean, but posts about how good or bad the machine is, simply do not help this situation. Please, lets keep it positive, and relevant to the question at hand. Kimba.. They are either sticking a quarter in with a penny, using a toothpick, or using a cardboard slug. If you need help with that, let me know. I've had Uturns for 12 years. rodney69
The only thing I have found to be an issue with Uturns is the coin mechs. Beaver's and others are better. I've built my route with Uturns, but I will be expanding to include smaller machines in some spots, and expanding my modified racks in others. May even try to get into larger racks. Uturn's have got me where I'm at, but want to broaden my horizons.
