CJvending
Has anyone had any experience putting a Vendstar head, dispenser wheel, or candy chute through a dishwasher(will it melt?)? I just got a hold of my first 14 machines and they are vendstar 6000's and they look almost brand new but I want to sterilize the heads. Thanks again. adog
I wouldn't do that. Just wash them with dish soap and hot water or wipe it out with the clorox wipes and then hot water and soap to be safe lol. That's all I do and it works fine!
VFVending
Has anyone had any experience putting a Vendstar head, dispenser wheel, or candy chute through a dishwasher(will it melt?)? I just got a hold of my first 14 machines and they are vendstar 6000's and they look almost brand new but I want to sterilize the heads. Thanks again. I did place my Vendstars in the dishwasher and they did not melt. I placed the canisters on the lower rack and Proportioner wheel (dispenser) on the top rack. I cleand the candy chute in place because it wasn' t as dirty. Make sure you turn off the heated dry. Since you're vendstars are almost brand new, I would wash with soap and water as Adog has recommended. You never know how your dishwasher will react. drseuss8347
What's the point of turning off the heated dry?
shepherdsflock
What's the point of turning off the heated dry? To prevent melting. I've washed mine in the dishwasher with a heated drying cycle without any problem.
CJvending
Me too, but drying those damn Vendstars by hand (even with the heated dry on) is a major pain in the butt.
ska173
In the Denver (probably the case everywhere) area there are places called commissaries. Essentially a rentable, shared kitchen space used by food trucks and caterers that need access to commercial resources. I take plastic tub loads of Vendstars through their commercial dishwashers. I have the head broken down and run the parts, heads separate, through on dishwasher cup/plate trays. Works great when I need to clean a plethora of VS in advance of a large placement run.
