Tpico bulk machines

When I first started my business a couple years ago, I bought a few of them because they were cheap and I was getting started on a very small budget.  They work okay, but I won't use them for toys because I've had countless misvends from them.  For candy and gumballs they seem to do the job, but you're much better off waiting it out and buying good equipment.

Definitely stay away from those green/gold SSF machines.  Those have got to be the worst quality machines I've seen!

  • 1 year later...

A local route is for sale with TPico machines-- claims to have 270 established locations. Owner hasn't said what he wants for the business, but I cringe to guess. I'm sticking to my guns of what others have said on this forum that a route is rarely worth more than $100 / machine, or the amount it is expected to earn out in a year. So I'm guessing $25,000-30,000 would be going price for this route, ish. He probably wants more, though. He emailed me back and said to call him--maybe I will this afternoon, but I certainly don't have that kind of money hanging around--would have to get a friend to finance it.

Sorry, orsd, in other forums I'm a member of, they yell at us if we start a new thread when there's already a perfectly good one started on it. (If you keep the number of threads fewer, it's easier for new members, and old members, to go back and find old information, without having to hash it out afresh every few years). B)

Anyway, I talked to him, and he says he's selling the route because his full-time job (in medical field) keeps him too busy now-adays to devote the time. He says on a bad month he takes in $3500, and on a good month $5000. He says it's about ten hours a week. He says he built it up from scratch over 4 years. He says he services each account once per month and is careful to maintain a positive relationship with each location. He donates 10% to local charity. He says it's rare to find less than $8-10 / month in a location, and if it's consistently less he moves it or checks with the people to see if there are other products they would prefer. But he says he wants $40,000 firm and that's what he paid for his machines, and that's more than I can handle and seems a bit on the high side.

hope his name is not tim ricci

No, it isn't, but I'll keep his name private out of consideration.

Or take payments on balance. I would also want to know the settings and how much cost there is. I can make a lot on every location if they're opened up

He says he wants to not split the route up, but then again, as we talked, he said if he didn't sell the entire thing before too long he would consider splitting off a small part for me to start out with. He said he would be happy to show me all the books, take me out servicing with him, etc. if I became truly serious about buying it--says he doesn't have anything to hide and would be happy to show and explain everything he does if I got the money together. Also said he might be able to work with me if I got half the money together and he could finance the other half of it. Said he would teach me everything, and if I bought it, he would take me over the entire route the last time he services it, meeting the location providers, which he assures are quite happy with him, and teaching me everything. He does want full price he's asking.

The route is local to me here, right in my area, and distance is not a problem. There is one section a county away, which I could decide what to do with when the time came. I have friends in the other county who might be able to spot for me over there if I had problems. Or might split that county off as a smaller route for someone else. But it isn't really too far--I would just do all those on the same day.

He did say he might work out some sort of payments terms if I came up with a sizable downpayment. He is selling mostly candy and gumballs at the .25 setting. He also said he might consider splitting the route up, but would prefer not to. Also, the TPico machines are quite new and replaced his older machines, whatever they were, I can't remember. He already sold his old machines.

He has reduced his price to $30,000 from $40,000. Says he has meticulous records (which I do realize can be fudged). I'm supposed to get together with him this week.

I must have missed it. Is Toad playing his tired old games again?
