Recommended Posts

Hi,

I ve looked at many forum topics today and people always name OAK, EAGLE, AA, NORTHWESTERN, BEAVER.

Thats it.

What happened with Rhino???

I want to purchase a lot of these Rhinos which seem like a bargain price and they also seem very attractive almost if not identical design as Beaver machines.

http://www.gumball-machine.com/vending-machines/gumball-machines/gumball-machines-for-sale/classic-gumball-candy-machine.html

(check link above)

Has any of you bought and used these machines?? Please tell me what you think. Also point to alternatives price and quality speaking of this machine .

THANKS..

Spend a little more time reading the forum...Rhino info has been spread out over the years.

Here's a somewhat recent thread on Rhino

The bottom line message is STAY AWAY from Rhino.

There is just one bad experience with Rhino. How can we draw conclusions over these? Also if they are so bad and have such a bad reputation, why are they still on business?

You missed the part of my post that reads, "Spend a little more time reading the forum...Rhino info has been spread out over the years".

So, I will reiterate...spend a little more time reading the forum.

You should be able to find the Rhino info you seek.

As far as your question regarding how a company with a bad reputation can still be in business...well, the vending industry is no different from other industries in that respect.

We can all name a crappy product that has been around for years, is of poor quality, and yet, continues to sell; whether we are talking about power tools, automobiles, food chains, or anything else we regularly encounter in our lives, there will always be substandard quality products that sell to the uninformed masses.

I have a bunch of these LYPC/Rhino machines that I bought for $1.75 each. They are OK machines. If I had to pay retail for these machines ($50 a head), I would not buy them because there are better machines for the same price. If I buy new machines, I buy Eagle and A & A Global machines because they are reasonably priced, upgradeable, versatile and have spare parts available. My favorite machines are Northwestern and Beaver.

What price are going to pay for these Rhino machines?

are they easy to clean and repair?

do they stock those chinese parts in the us?

Yes they are easy to clean and repair. LYPC keeps some spare parts in stock but, not as much as Northwestern, Beaver, Eagle A & A Global.

good, I bought some chinese triples last year.

but only before checking to see if they stocked all the parts.

the stock setup was, one candy setup and one gum setup with one capsule setup. only thing that bugged me was the full color advertising box they came in. Hey, here is your new vending machine! look how easy it is to setup. start raking in big bucks NOW!

Rhino Machines coin mechs jam...

don't dispense products 5% of the time and they break easily

And I constantly take locations from people who run them I get about 2 accounts per month..

EVERYTIME I walk in with a sales pitch and I see a Rhino... LYPC or these you listed from gumball machine warehouse I Laugh..

And 99% of the time Owner is sick of complaints and miss vends and refunds...

easy target for a better machine vendor..

I tell the owners... these are a cheep knockoff of a REAL bulk vending machine and are garbage..

Let me bring in a Beaver Rack..

For the same price range you can get A&A, OAK, BRAND NEW!

Great machines and same or close to same prices!

Pick up the phone... call them for prices... they will give them to you..

Or even spend a little more on a machine that will outlast you..   Beaver... northwestern...

I don't understand why They would save $30.00 and buy crap machines that will last 2 years

compared to spending $30.00 more on one that will last 50 Years..

The hardest part is keeping a Good Location is keeping the owners happy...

Keep the owners happy and I or others who know what to buy don't take the location from you with ease..

its much harder to talk a owner into switching to me when there is a A&A, Beaver or northwestern rack in place.. unless its not maintained.

So, your call..

Another important Thing to keep in mind is...

A&A...    10 year span...  parts?    maybe a lock... new globe if hazy... $14.00 in parts..

Cheep knockoff?  10 year span...  IF YOUR LUCKY..    3 coin mechs..   $80.00   2 wheels... $20.00   lock? $3.00  New Globe  $11.00  Plus downtime... and lost incomes..

Lost locations?  PRICELESS!

Using cheep machines only does one thing..

Burning bridges for real operators by annoying the owner...

Aka Vendstar Desease... OR V.D... to the owner.

Then that location is locked out forever..    Ive had bulk vending it didn't work out.. always broken... cant change their minds.. never filled it... V.D..

After reading prices on forum, Im embarassed to say Im gonna pay around 65 USD for each. They charged me more, because I want them with the Colombian peso coin mechanism. If I wanted them with the USA coin mechanism I could have them at 49 USD.

You can draw your conclusion by listening to experts. I would never buy a Rhino unless it's a case like I think happened last week. I think I may just have bought a rack that has two Rhino's on top with a 3 col flat between them. The three col flat looks like an advance machine so it ought to be good. There are 5 machines on the bottom that look line PN-95's. I bought the rack from the business owner and most machines are out of order. I was planning on talikg parts to repair and a dremel tool to make one of the 2" machines fit together right. I coulda paid to much, but I was buying the location more than the machines. I was however planning to fix and use them. I'll see..............

Bill nailed it

The coin mechs are crap!

I have northwestern mechs still going strong after 20 years

I have had rhino mechs not last a year

that was all I needed

What about coin mechs of other machines AA, OAK, EAGLE , ETC.?

Great quality

Beaver has the best mechs which is why they are used in many other coin op items

Mayge thats why A & A copied them. I have not had a problem with any of the A & A beaver clone mechs yet.

  • 1 month later...

Don't know if this is spamming the topic, but OP asked for similar options, price, condition.

I have over 200 Southern Beaver heads for $25 each in very good - used condition.  Feel free to PM me.

Wouldn't you know another rhino coin mech bit the dust allowing backward free spin.

it almost lasted a whole year!

and this is like a $10 month location so not a lot of use.

i dont understand the question
