Had a location list my rack on Craigslist.  I happened to be cruising the sales adds and i see a nice rack and notice hey thats my rack, i call the number and sure enough its mine &is  at the location where i it was placed . Never told the guy who i was when i called, i just set an appointment for another time to come check it out, With in 1 hr i was at the location loading up my rack. The nerve of these guys trying to sell my rack. Mind you they are on commission( and get paid)  i have printed ownership labels with phone # visible on two large machines on the rack and no one called and they don't seem to be going out of business. I had half a mind to call the cops to meet me there with the Craigslist add. I just got my stuff and was happy i did not loose any equipment .

I also check craigslist for machines that look like one of mine.  A big clue, it comes with no keys  :)

I've had 3 businesses close up from the time they were first located to first collections.  I still try to recover machines if I can.

I don't think a crime is committed until they take money and allow it to be taken. If it was me I would have gone in during the busiest time of day with a bunch of copies of the ad and really gotten into their faces about it so all the customers could see and hear what these guys are all about and then load and leave.

WOW, I like Mission's idea MUCH better.  That's fighting fire with fire messing with their bottom line.

As an aside, I'd like to add that Mission is a gentleman and a scholar and if I ever do anything to offend you, allow me the chance to apologize.

If a business ever did try that with me they would face the worst possible enemy they would never want to see

Especially if they sold food..

I would plaster

Cockroaches in my salad and RATS in the celling tiles so fast..

On Yelp. yellowpages Google Search, Google maps

ripoffreport,com

you would only have to type the first three letters of their restaurant and all those reviews would pop up first..

by multiple friends and family

Along with the occasional paid person to go in during peak hours and put live and dead mice in their bathrooms..

yep...i am evil..

I wouldn't call it evil, its fighting back to protect your business. Its one thing when someone acts unethically to take some business from you, but its a whole different matter to try to steal your property. I usually will let it go if someone lies and cheats to get business from me because karma seems to always catch up to them. However, I wouldn't let theft or attempted theft go unpunished.

now you see what the soda bottlers go thru.

setup someone with free machines, and they decide they don't want to do it anymore,

how many do you think call the bottlers and tell them to get the machines,

and how many get sold under the table?

Place an ad trying to sell their business.

No, just sell their operating equipment. If they're a restaurant, sell their ovens, fryers, dishwashing equipment, cash registers, etc. Or just sell their building. Or just sell their parking lot, or their plumbing, or any of the other things that are vital to the operation of their business.

Hmmmmmmm!

Not bulk, but I was looking at cold drink machines on e-bay when I came across a picture of a DN 501T that looked just like mine somebody was trying to sell. I investigated and it was my pictures, not my machine. I still wonder where he got my pictures from!

I hate a theft!

Right click on the pic, download it.  To give the guy the benefit of a doubt, maybe he thought it was a "stock" photo.

it seems a little much and not quite proportional to ruin a guys business over one machine and  with dead animals at that??what if they figure it out and press charges??surely that cant be legal either!! restaurant owners/managers tend to know the other owner/mangers in the area, and could fight back by having other machines of yours in town pulled too.was it the owners or an employee that did it?? if there`s punishment to be had it should be done thru authorities and not a personal vendetta.if you wanted to get even, which you had an hour to think it through, you could have easily arranged the sale and had them arrested on the spot.if it was the owners, then, as a consequence the business would have also been ruined without the extra work of searching or killing animals to later plant and risk getting caught with at least a felony. my advice is to forget about them, karma will work that out.I bet they`ll have a walk in cooler go out on them in the near future.focus on your business and how you can become more profitable.
