RikaKazak
So I just started vending runts last week, and I got my first jam call. It was on the runts head, and when I got there, I put a quarter in, twisted REALLY hard, and it "broke free." I wasn't sure if there was a banana that was pinched (a broken one came out in the vend) or if the quarters got stacked up and jammed up the mech (if you've owned vendstars before, you know how the quarters sometime pile up in between the chute and mech part). Anyone have more experience vending runts from vendstars? Does it jam a bunch? Or is that just a fluke?
ska173
I run runts in 25-30 Vendstars no issue with jams whatsoever.
CJvending
What number setting are you guys using to vend Runts out of your vendstars? Other stuff like skittles and coated cc I run at a #3 I believe, how about runts?
ska173
Right in the middle, I run skittles, Reece's, and mm at 5, runts at 4, mike & Ike's at 3, PMM at 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RikaKazak
Wow you guys vend a lot more candy per quarter then I do. I vend runts at 6 (same with skittles). MI/HT at 5, and PMM at 4. I calculated it out, and runts cost me 1.3 cents per runt. At marking 6 it then vends pretty close to 7 runts per vend. So that's about 9.1 cents cog which is around 36%...I always try to keep it right under 40%. I'm wondering if I calculated the cost wrong. 1.3 cents per runt seems high (I paid $59.99 + shipping per box for 3 boxes from quill).
Rick
I'm pretty sure your costs are wrong Rika. Assuming $70 per 30lb box, they cost 14.5 cents/oz. and granted, it's been a couple of years since I weighed them but I could swear there's well over 20 runts per oz. 7 Runts per vend??? I'd bet you're vending HALF of what I am. Surprised you're still selling them but if you are then I wouldn't change it I guess. How many PMM's are you dispensing at 4? I guess I should probably up it, even if it is selling. I'll have to redo the math. (like I said, JUST started doing runts) For PMM it's usually 4, sometimes 5, and once in a blue moon 6. Averages probably 4.25 pmm per vend.
Rick
That's okay then. I think I'm closer to 5.5-6 pieces on PMM but most of the guys who still vend them are closer to you than me.
CJvending
So number wheel settings for Runts anyone else have input?
redfleet32
I dont do runts either in my Vendstars. That is the only product that would jam.
CJvending
Red fleet are you assuming that because of the shape? Or do you have personal experience? Because Ska says he runs runts out of over 25 vendstars with no problems.
