shepherdsflock
24 what? 24 dollars. For all but the nicest locations or locations with high potential for vandalism or high wear and tear, I would go with A&A. They are a lot cheaper (Beavers cost 35% more) and 95% of the time they will be adequate in appearance and build quality/durability to get the job done. orsd
Beaver might be shorter beacause some models are plastic Also the mechs on a beaver are top notch while I've heard that aa mechs are so so
musser
The PO89 is a pretty good machine, life span? 30 plus years, as is the beaver .
sherlock
My preferred machine is Oak, but if only the A&A or Beaver to choose from: A&A all day, every day. And for the record, I do own both. Have them on my route and they are both work horses...I've just not seen anything from Beaver that justifies the extra expense. AA is a better machine dollar-for-dollar. Do you know OAKs contact, Ive emailed them but they dont answer. Dont you think Beaver design attracts more people and hence increases sales? Why do you prefer OAKs over Beavers and AA? shepherdsflock
I don't own any Beavers, so I was assuming that the product wheels were metal. If they are plastic, then they are not any better than A&A. A&A product wheels are plastic and may not last as long as a metal one. Otherwise they are great machines. If Beavers are similar in materials, then I see no advantage for the Beaver.
Rick
Correct. Beavers have metal housing and product wheels.
sherlock
Do you know OAKs contact, Ive emailed them but they dont answer. Dont you think Beaver design attracts more people and hence increases sales? Why do you prefer OAKs over Beavers and AA? Contact ph# for Oak: 1-800-247-4932 A machine's design is very subjective so I don't put much stock in what design attracts customers. If we are talking just straight-up bulk vendors, what might appeal to one person, may turn another off. For example, I think rounded Beavers are ugly compared to the A&A, Oak, Eagle, and Northwestern offerings. Speaking strictly from a practical standpoint, IMO the rounded Beaver globes are a HUGE turn off for me. They are a pain in the butt when using live displays...and those live displays really take up a lot of room (less product capacity) in those globes. I prefer Oaks over machines from Beaver/A&A/NW/Eagle because dollar-for-dollar Oaks are the best value in a professional grade machine. Oaks cost less than all the others (except maybe Eagle -- I think Oaks are priced about the same as those). Yet, Oaks hold up just as well (if not better) than any of those other machines. Not knocking the other machines because I own and am happy with them...just happier with the Oaks. I have machines that are anywhere from a couple years old to over a decade old from all the mfr's I listed above, and I have yet to see any quality superiority of the higher cost machines over the Oaks. bullyfrog
I'm not a fan of A&A machines. I don't like how they fit together. There were a bunch of gaps and edges that didn't quite line up right on the ones I have and had. I prefer NW, but that's just me. As stated above it's all subjective and I doubt it will really affect your sales much. I don't own any Beaver's, but they do make some nice equipment. I would def go with their square head over the round if you do go that way.

But you won't find that with the large vendors or the PO 89 styles
