I have however come to the conclusion that unfortunately as many experienced vendors here have stated, there are many people in this industry selling defective, over-priced machines or simply offering business models which will not work. Individuals looking at this business either as a full-time career or just for some added income would be wise to follow the advice and wisdom of the people on this forum and spend the time to learn everything you can before spending any money. The information is available and learning about the industry will make you significantly more successful. Here is a list of the majority of the franchise and biz-op business for sale in North America. Although some are not what I would consider scams, the added costs for someone to "TEACH" you the business is simply so expensive and restrictive that your success I feel is highly unlikely. If you search the companies below, most are selling either a Seaga or Wittern brand machine. In doing my research, I have found both these companies market a variety of machines with different model numbers and slight manufacturing differences. As stated many times on this forum, the Seaga machines or a similar variation (Paramount Commerical Mfg./Gaines Equipment Corp./Fortune Vending Inc./Genesis Mfg. Inc.) will not be useful in a proper vending business, are overpriced and a waste of money. Wittern also markets their own machines through a number of websites. Although the USI brand has a following, I feel Wittern markets and builds their machines in quality and price to reach all market segments. Wittern Brands eVending Healthiervending Selectivend Federal Machine Vending.com FRANCHISES: CANADA: MAX HEALTHY VENDING: Machine Manufacturer : Unknown Korean Company This company had been very successful marketing this franchise. I was quoted a cost of between $5900 and $7900 Canadian per machine. There are many of these machines now for sale on craigslist and kijiji. I have talked to a number of people who bought into this business and most are very disappointed. The company makes all kinds of claims and promises but does not deliver. UNITED STATES: H.U.M.A.N HEALTHY VENDING LLC: Machine Manufacturer : Jofemar, Modified by AVT This company had been very successful marketing this franchise. However, if you read their franchise disclosure document (you can see this document at the California Department of Business Oversight website) I believe it is almost impossible to make any real money with this company regardless of all the articles, videos and clever marketing from the owners. FRESH HEALTHY VENDING (FHV LLC) Machine Manufacturer : AMS This company has also been very successful marketing this franchise. However, because this is a public company reading their FORM 10K and all the other documentation which is linked directly form their website shows it is best to stay away. They have been fined by the state of California for making multiple errors in their franchise disclosure documents, the company owners have been fined for fraud in the past, etc. This company was originally called YONATURALS. I looked at H.U.M.A.N. but from their marketing they were stating how the government is going to force only "healthy" snacks into school. I quote healthy because the gov't has been touting this high grain diet as good for you and there is no scientific evidence to back that up. I'm a free-market guy and believe the market should determine what is in the machines. You are setting yourself up for failure if you are relying on the whims of a "board of elitists" to determine what you can sell. I've seen an ad for someone trying to unload about 20 of these on craigslist going on a year now. In some markets it will work I'm sure but not the average one. Wittern/USI is (arguably) a respectable brand. They have some "shenanigans" but they make good machines too. AMS is a respectable brand. Their stuff, under the AMS brand is quality stuff. Maybe not the best but I would have no problem putting a new AMS snack machine into a good location. Last I checked, vencoa was a distributor for USI equipment. It is the companies that use the machines that are the problem. In regards to Vencoa, being that they distribute USI equipment I think that was a mistake and they should not be on the list. I however feel Wittern is degrading the USI brand by creating a number of various brands/quality and marketing to the biz-op crowd who do not go to legitimate equipment distributors. Equipment distributors are very important in any vending business as they can offer good advice, new and used equipment , warranties, repairs etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am really amazed at how much money has been spent on these kinds of enterprises, as I see so much of this equipment for sale on Craigslist and Kijiji. Also, this is just the food and beverage areas, not all the other types of vending (DVD, Water, Ice, Bulk, Coffee, ATM, Amusement, Etc.) It is very unfortunate that people will not spend the time and effort to learn about the business on sites like this so they could save themselves so much money and grief. FRANCHISES: United States: The Box Brands Machine Manufacturer AVT You can guarantee this is going to fail. You can find on the internet people who have tried the burritos and most say it is terrible. The machines are going to cost in the $10,000 range and I am sure it will not perform very well. As far as pizza, there have been so many attempts by companies with this product that have gone bankrupt that this will most likely follow. Save yourself tons of money by using regular professional machines that you put your own healthy wraps on and then market to the locations yourself. It makes no sense to pay thousands of dollars to some internet marketed "Healthy vending franchise" when you can do it all yourself for a fraction of the cost. This is also a way to ensure you aren't taken advantage of by unscrupulous biz op salesmen that promise the moon. Anyone have any dealings with these companys? Max vending is located in Canada and has been very successful in selling overpriced equipment . Just check Kijiji or craigslist in Canada and you will see the number of machines that are for sale. The machines are sold for between $5500 and $8000. The company promises high sales and good locations and then do not deliver like all the rest of these companies. I have seen equipment being sold for as low as $1000. I have talked to other max purchasers and they say the company is not very helpful after they purchased the equipment. Natural 2 Go is using a Seaga machine so again stay away. Do what AZ has suggested, purchase full size equipment (Crane, AMS, DN, Wittern (USI) Etc.) and just put a wrap on it. Chocolate I get from Dollarama @.77 and some specialty stuff from Vending Supply. Pop I get @ 3.33 a case usually, if I catch the deals that week. Vending supply products are only in the larger cities and actually quite expensive. I mentioned that to them one day, the response, but we are a one stop place. I still ha e to discount my product, so savings is the key for me.I tagged up with a dealership where I have an in, and am now." Supplying" them with product.
