service vending and front money

I share a good spot with SV and yesterday the owner told me that SV offered him 300 to boot me and let them place more machines. I know we have talked about front money here before but this is the first I have heard of them using. And I was suprized to be honest.

ive had them offer a chain of 4 grocery stores I have 2 years net up front, the net figure would be what I had been paying them plus 25% increase..

Owner told me about it and I made him printout and receipts from my company letterhead with extra 8K added in, owner told me he would give me part of the extra 8k if they accepted and we would still be  friends...Service never contacted them back and went away and hasn't pitched that location anymore front money again.

This is standard Service Vending practice. Very common. Also when SV renews a contract they often pay the total estimated commission for the contract term upfront. So in going after some of their better business you need to know the contract expiration date and have the check book ready. The upfront commission on a three year contract for even mediocre business can easily be five figures. The good thing is that SV does such a crappy job that you will usually see earnings 50% to 100% higher than what they had and you will gain a customer for life.

They did not get my account. Between a buddy and myself I cover the bulk and he has full arcade and pool tables. SV was there first with bulk but it's a busy spot and they just let machines run empty poor poor service. They are not a company that works well with others. I have a hand full of guys I net work with and it's good for us all. There is a closed location with a SV crane, rack, and sticker machine that is about to be gutter and that equiptment is going in the open top dumpster. If it was one of my net work friends I would make sure they were able to get their stuff out.

Net working is a win, win. It's great knowing healthy competitors have your back. I've ran into SV guys many times in the field. Really unprofessional from my in counters. Guy was on his phone talking loud as he serviced and dressed really sloppy.

I don't think there's anyone in my area that isn't a cut throat competitor.

One big one is tyvend.

I think they just bought their way into vending, but he runs I think the western 8-12 states

Their web site has some smoke and mirrors. They show a target store on the photo section and there is not a target anywhere with vending.

I don't understand ha.

They have a huge warehouse here in town. They do bulk, crane and other areas.

they are hiring...  let him work there and share all the locations , payouts... if they skim...

and get to know the insides  to screw them over..

Killer idea. There is so much none of us know about them.

up front money is here to stay. Bulk vending is a comoddity.. Unlike cranes/amusement... "service" is not vey important, therefore product and price are the only ways to differentiate. You cannot differentiate on product because there are only a few suppliers with similar stuff. What do you do when you know you can't win on product and service??? Sell on price. Should you Offer a higher split? No, Not usually worth the time with bulk.. Why not pay the same commission, but offer it up front to minimize the risk for the account to make the swap. If I were them I would be doing the same thing.
