corbin
Just negotiated buying 40 northwestern Original 60 model with glass globes WITH single, double, and tripple stands for all of them, AND tons of parts that will make a couple more machines. All this for 400$!!!! What do you guys think of this? I'm new to this business, but have a strong background in sales, and marketing. My first purchases was 7 northwestern triples for 57 a piece, they are in decent shape, could use some paint though. Also, I plan to build into full time very rapidly as my area is Very very dense with traffic.(not stating location yet though) I plan to get into racks, toys, and amusement vending eventually. Right now I do mostly nuts, and candy.

HHV
Careful of the glass globes--I prefer plastic IMO, but great deal!!
corbin
Thanks guys!! I actually sorta like the glass globes, looks upscale to me, and I'm very graceful with stuff so I know it will be fine. Does anyone know the worth of these things? Also what is the capacity of these glass globes?

corbin
Thanks guys! I'm thinking about buying these rhinos to refurb, and place or resale, How good are these stands on these triples? I can get these machines for 10$ a piece MAX, I may talk him down to 5-7$/piece. Also they need locks replace for both the top, and change drawer. These seagas (rhinos now i guess) are not great in my oppion. You cannot easily change product as the cannisters are not removeable. I have about 5 out and can't wait to replace them eventually. Stands are very heavy duty. Id stick with the NW's Sorry didnt see $10 for machine. Ya for that price resell them for a profit
sweetstop
Both Rhino and seaga have inferior coin mechs They just don't last
corbin
And then there is this guy, who wants 500$ for 45 of these machines. He only has 3 stands though. What are these worth? Are they good for racks? I plan to get into toys, and amusement vending aswell.

rodney69
I agree! Although, I did see 4 racks for sale today at 300 ea obo. 5 singles with 4 2's on it and the others had the same singles with other configurations. I told him that if he still had them in a month, I'll take a look art them.
corbin
No one knows what those aa globals are worth each head without the stand? Also what are these eagles worth? They have 30 of these eagles, with wood stands; so 10 stands with 3 heads each.

From my limited experience with singles, I would think that 20 a head or less is a good buy. 10 or less is a steal in decent shape, AA, Northwestern, Eagle, beaver are all commercial quality. You will learn more by going to the thread on equipment reviews. You will learn more in 2 hrs of reading than you will asking for days! LOL Every area is different, but you seem to be in an area where you can get equipment CHEAP! I'm just starting on singles and racks, but I know that the Eagles are about the same quality as Oak, which is very durable. Stay away from Rino and no name equipment. I originally bought cheap equipment because it was cheap, now I'm in the process of liquidating equipment and buying quality. Over the long haul it's better to buy the quality and not mess with it. Parts are cheaper, more accessible, and you can expand easily. Those Eagle's for instance, I would love to get my hands on those for decent price! They are cabinet machines that all you have to do is buy an expanded back or even back and side to expand how much product you can hold! So if you have a busy location you can go longer between stops. For instance: I bought a route of Uturns (don't buy except to resell), one of the locations makes about 150 a month, but only really sells 5 of the products in any volume. It's an 8 select, so the remaining are wasted space. If I had the Eagles that you have on a 4 way rack, I could put expanded cabinets on it and service once a month or even 6 weeks which would cut down on gas and drive time! Not including the coin mechanisms that I have to replace due to the kids. Uturn is plastic mostly for coin mechs, which is why there cheap. Hope this helps. corbin
Thanks! Helps a lot! But trust me, I'm the type to reaserch tons before, and consistently everyday for hours lol. I'm on this site for a average of 2-3 hours a day soaking up the experience, and knowledge of you veterans! I appreciate everyone on this site, it's a gold mine for sure!! I got a couple of these from a fellow vendor and made one with the parts and gave it back! The other two I used for stands and scraped the bodies, with you need stand I say do it.
