Polyvend H-22 question

Recommended Posts

So I just got a Polyvend H-22 (Tom's Snack Machine) which I plan to use to vend vintage tchotchkes. I picked it up for nothing (literaly.)  It all runs fine, I just can't find a manual anywhere to tell me how to reset the pricing on it.

Any help on finding a manual or just letting me know how to change the price setting would appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

I have no idea what "tchotchkes" are but good luck with them.  I have never seen a manual for a machine as old as that in the 29 years I've been in vending.  I can tell you that the machine is a single price machine and the price setting is in the coin mech.  Release the top right and left catches on the coin acceptor (top part of coin mech) and lift the acceptor off.  You will see a block of micro switches.  The left switch has a value of .05 with each switch to the right doubling in value.  So to set a price of .50 for example, you will turn on switch two (.10 value) and switch four (.40 value) to equal .50.  Reinstall the acceptor and then test the machine with coins.

Tchotchkes are just a general term for toys, baubles and such.

Thanks for the quick response. I will take a look in the morning and see if I can find the micro switches. Are they on the coin acceptor or inside the mechanism where the acceptor came out of?

Thanks for the suggestion. I found the adjustment. A little different than you explained, but it worked.

It only goes up to .75 though. Any ideas on how to adjust above that limit.

Here is a photo of the mechanism:

I didn't view your photo as I don't wish to be a member of the Google+ community, but most old Coinco single price changers were only S75 models meaning they would only go to a price of .75. Yours must have the older slide switches since you say it is different than I described and those switches max out at .75. The problem with using this old, obsolete machine is that the H22 used a very rare 24 volt single price coin mech. While there were some later 110V S150 Coincos made, I don't believe any were made in 24V versions and 24V is the issue here.

I don't know what drove you to purchase this machine but you couldn't have gotten a machine much more obsolete and useless than this one. This should have been scrapped 15-20 years ago. If you are adamant about using it and you need to go above .75 in price, I know I can get an old Mars coin mech converted to 24V (had to do it before), if it will go above .75. The limit will be $1.50 at the max. Is that high enough for you? If it's not then you will need a real vending machine of more current vintage.

In his original post he says he "picked it up for nothing (literally)" I take that to mean he got it for free.

but, I understand what you are saying.

Here is a different pic:

I did get it for free and I understand the drawbacks of the age of this beast, but it all is working great and it will be at my own location so I don't have to worry a lot about security/misdrops/etc...

I'm interested in what it takes to switch out to a different coin mech. 75 cents isn't a bad price point for the little items I plan to place in it, but $1, $1.25 would be better.

AZVendor, are you saying that I could find a "Mars" coin mech and replace the guts of the current coin mech? What modifications would I need to make?

Thanks Again!

I see from the photo that you have an antiquated coin mech, probably an old NRI unit.  The way it is wired into the machine makes it impossible to put any other coin mech in it.  You are stuck with the mech it has now as there are no upgrades.
