EIV
Anyone had any succes emailing potential business owners for placement? The plus that I can see would be, they can look when they have time. but the down side is its really easy to hit the delete button and go on to the next, also they would need there interest peaked enough to actually take the time to respond to allow your machine in. GagesVending
NO. Email is a lazy, quick to delete form of communication. Think of how much junk mail you get daily...do you actually read through it? Your email would be considered junk mail to a potential client. Even over the phone it's harder to say no than to not click the "delete" button, on to the next. Hanging up the phone on someone is considered rude, but no one knows that you deleted their email. Rick
I've had some success with email used in conjunction with a face to face pitch. Twice now I've been able to close when, during my pitch, I saw the owner was hesitant and their body language was very closed off I just said, "...Tell you what, don't say anything right now. Let me send you some photos of the equipment and my offer. You can look it over when you're not busy." Even if they say no you now have their email address. You can check in from time to time and see if things have changed. But NEVER cold-call via email. Like Gage said, it won't even get read.
