huynhhh
How much do you guys generally buy a bulk vending machine for? And where? Im having the biggest struggle here, everything I find on eBay (in the US one) is at a reasonable price, but shipping makes each head about 50+ dollars, and these are for single heads.. Without a stand..I'm new to this so my locations don't have enough traffic to invest in a rack (and stands are like 30+ before shipping) How do you Canadian Vendors do it? Do you just suck it up and buy the expensive machines?

ReillyNoFun
What city are you in? Search on craigslist or kijiji for used machines locally, I'm yet to see good prices on ebay because as you say.. shipping sucks. Try searching the Forum - there are definitely a few threads with good leads regardless. I was thinking the other day that maybe there needed to be a "Canada Super Info Thread"...other Canuks chime in.

BlindVending
Like Reily I am lucky to be in a major city around him (Hamilton). There are quite a few deals that come up on kijiji and I just negotiate to get the equipment for what I want it to be. Also it doesn't hurt that Beaver is located 45 mins from me so I can pickup any order to not pay shipping. I just placed a small order through AA Global for some BB's and toys. the order was only $230ish shipping was $80ish but UPS just showed up at the door looking for $95 in import/duty fees. Sucks we don't have many suppliers.
ReillyNoFun
Blind - is it just me or is UPS literally the worst courier of all time? Honestly a nightmare every time I deal with them - shipping and receiving!

BlindVending
Yes, If anything comes USPS or Canada Post its a smooth transaction. UPS has ALWAYS been a nightmare for me. $95 in import fees on a $80 shipping charge weighing only 16 pounds is ridiculous. Talk about driving my COG's up. If only ActionMatic would pull their crap together and carry some products... btw Reily, I think you have an ad up on kijiji now with machines for sale don't you

They will nail it on the shipping and everything so your not caught off guard. Not saying AA is bad, but been with TNT for years do to the SUPERB SERVICE! Not saying AA is bad, but been with TNT for years do to the SUPERB SERVICE! ActionMatic lost their supplier for most everything. They carry a giant selection of 2 items in 1 inch caps. TJKing was my main go to, since it was close to the border. After an order showed up (from UPS) looking like the cases.got hit by a train and missing some product tjking called it quits on shipping to canada to. TNT while having competitive pricing.is way out in California and the shipping before duties is massive. Last time a smaller order than the one i recently placed.at AA costed over $200. It sucks and i wish someone in Canada would step up
FrCorey
good thing you don't have a huge route and buy by the pallet.
ReillyNoFun
Blind - I do have an ad on kijiji right now but it is for 'machines wanted' not for sale. Have been getting some responses with decent equipment, though most of it isn't useful for me (I don't vend full time and I don't have a car). I did score a new in-the-box super 60 for 50 bucks cash yesterday though.I also wish actionmatic would get some new product - and I've only been vending for like 8 months... They have a big selection of capsule + flat stuff, but most of it looks pretty boring to me. I had a big batch of my own sticker designs printed and have been doing much better with those than any of the stuff I've picked up from actionmatic. BlindVending
Reily what brand machines are you looking to buy? If those stickers in capsules are doing well, are you willing to sell me a few that I can try in caps? Actionmatic sucks and have like 3 1 inch products lately
ReillyNoFun
I've been doing the stickers through my flat machines - sorry if I wasn't clear there. They're too big to fit into capsules. I make my own 1" pin-back buttons which is what I vend in caps. Can fit a few buttons + a paper "fortune" into the bubbles- selling at $1 and $2. If you want to give either a go shoot me an email or DM and we can try to figure out the logistics. I think other members here think that selling pins will get you sued (not unfounded), but I have proper choking / sharps hazard signs on my machines and have only been having a good response so far. jmac
Wondering if anyone here vends any 1" for $1. Im going to give it a shot. Ordering some new Beavers on Monday to give it a go. Want to try 1" sqwishland or tnt's soda erasers. Anyone else have product suggestions? I sold my bulk route off a few years back, but kept my 2 toy locations. Want to build a bigger route, only toys with maximum profits.
BlindVending
Sqwishland barely sells at .25 for me but the soda erasers do very well at .
jmac
Sqwishland barely sells at .25 for me but the soda erasers do very well at .50 Interesting. I have never tried sqwishland, but i always thought it would be hot anywhere. I will try the soda erasers at $1 and see what happens. I can always changeout coin mechs if i have to, down the road. They have the soda erasers in 2" caps also , with 2 erasers per cap. Im going to order those also, and try them out at $2.

Do you just suck it up and buy the expensive machines? I live in Alberta and there are not many good used vending machines for sale. Be patient i have found some used, they pop up from time to time. The southern Beavers arent too bad of a price. You could always order a few of those, to get started. The beauty of new machines, is you can order them new, setup exactly the way you want. You will also have a top quality machine. It can help in locating, when you can offer the business a brand new machine.
