huynhhh
Ok someone please correct my math.. 25lbs of peanut m&ms = 4750m&ms.. (190 pieces a pound) I vend 11 m&ms 4750/11 = 431 Vends 431 * .25 = 108$ So I only gain 108$ for a case of 25lb of m&ms? I bought the whole case for 105$... Is 4-5 pm&ms normal for 25 cents? I don't want my customers to feel cheated I've heard that the company is actually the cheapest in Canada

rodney69
Listen to osd, he's right. I vend 7, most have gone away from p m&m. 5 is fine to. Your settings are way to high! I would jump to the dollar mech. All your settings should be a little bit lower than here. I would go to somewhere that had a machine and see what they do. shepherdsflock
Pricing, portion adjustment, and stale product are the main reasons I eliminated nearly all candy locations from my route. Candy is a PITA and I don't sell it unless a location sells a LOT of it. Otherwise its just not worth the hassle.
Makes Cents
Action Vending is right, thats US money. At Sams price vending 6 pcs is approximately a 35% product cost. You guys have walmart up there right, they are usually slightly higher than that but dont forget their 'low price guarantee', maybe you can get them to match the closest Sams club price. I've never seen any bulk candy sold at walmart but I will check next time. Any Canadian vendors get the m&ms for cheaper than 105$ here?

Makes Cents
If someone gets 4 their not gonna be happy, you may not hear complaints but they'll tell someone. You will find M&M Peanuts suck. Yes they sell good but your cogs is 35% or more and thats before any stale product, cracked pieces, miss-vends, deformed pieces. When you stock them its like carrying around gold eggs that explode if you look at them wrong. Too hot they melt, too cold they crack, too much of a change in temperature they crack. You pour the bags you make sure you get every precious piece and not pour too hard. They can only be placed in an area thats climate controlled 24/7. That usually means 24 hour business operations. Some businesses have climate control but it shuts down after hours and if that happens on a hot day or a day with wide variation of temperature you will come back to a cracked glob of mess. (loss of $10 plus lost sales, plus gas, plus cleaning time) If they dont sell fast enough they turn into cracked powder (loss of $10 plus lost sales, plus gas, plus cleaning time) All the other candy can be vended at 20% cogs and is more stable. 1" Gumballs can be vended at 10% cost

Just a lot of decent locations that weigh out the price?
ffd95
I was thinking your paying too much. I've pretty much given up on pnut m&m's. If the customer wants them, I will usually mix them with regular. If you have a costco nearby, they run sales occasionally, 6.99 for 54oz bag. I stock up and keep them in a cool dry location.
