You don't have to  "pour it on".  I use it all the time to remove Sharpie from the outside of glossy boxes and if it doesn't harm a cardboard box, I wouldn't think it's going to do a lot of damage to hard plastic, whether it's Chinese or not.  I just put some on a cotton ball or Q-tip and rub lightly.  I'd test it out on a small area first.  But YMMV.

You can try a dry erase marker over the top, then wipe. I've also used permanent marker the same way. Just have to be quick!

On the other hand, I've left machines that had stickers and stuff on them if it doesn't look bad. Lol
