EIV
Any one know of one out there? One where you can plug in your vend amount and have it calculate out your gross and net.
caserri
Here is a spreadsheet that will calculate your cost per vend. http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/files/file/41-percentage-pricing-worksheet/ Not exactly what you asked for but you pretty much get the same info served up in a different way. FrCorey
nice. but how does this work? unless you weigh it all yourself. no two pieces weigh the same. like a 30 lb box is shipping weight, and may weigh more or less. take some m&ms and see if they all weigh the same that's why I am getting a candy scale. Plus, every manufactors candy wheel is different. 1st setting on a aa maybe not be the same as a oak or beaver too course you could set it for each setting and weigh what comes out for each setting too. EIV
Your right I would think its more of an average thing with all the different sizes. But I would think you could get pretty close anyway.
musser
You guys over think. Get a cheap scale, set your vend wheel, do 10 vends weigh the total, divide by ten, and you have an average weight per vend then you can figure the cost per vend easily. FrCorey
that's what I am going to do. weigh the candy I put in. then as it's sold, I know I used XX lbs or so. I will pre weigh for each machine and put in a ziplock bag. you don't want a location seeing you use your hands. hmm, better get a scoop too. rodney69
All I do is look at a smaller bag and how many you get for a pound and do the math to figure out how many vends I need to reach the cogs I want. I vend 7 pm&m's for about 38%, m&i at 10-11 for about 30%, and so on. not sure what they should be at, but for charity, I guess it works. Commission I sell very little candy. musser
I have prebagged all confections since day one. Much more sanitary, professional, and fast on location. I bag product so that the bag has about $35 (as sold) product in it. That's about what I need minimum to stop at a location
shepherdsflock
Candy is a real pain, and my experience is that you usually only have one item that sells well at a given location. What I started doing was using a triple to test three products; see which one sold best, then replace the triple with a single selling that product. I have eliminated all of my candy from my route except for two locations that sell a LOT of candy and did not respond favorably to toys. Food for thought. I know that not all locations can be toy locations (like break rooms), but wherever practical I sells toys and flat items.
