BEAVER KEY

The closest locksmith that MAY have it is an hour away, but I may have to Jax

Yea, a locksmith was my only alternative.  Someone "broke" into my van (actually I had left it unlocked!) and stole my tool kit which had all my spare keys in it.  I really hate Beaver's ridiculous and outdated key policy.  Machines are sold all over the place via the internet and those keys get intermingled in all geographic areas.  What ever you do, do not lose that last key!  Otherwise you will be drilling.  Good luck finding a locksmith.  And be prepared to pay $5 per key!

Their key deal is also BS. I got a friend of mine in the business and they send him the same s39 they sent me. He is 10 miles away. They say it's geographic to prevent some one having the same key as you.

Will they not sell you keys? If not they are the only supplier who won't.

Beaver told me that all keys (and locks) are "protected" by geographic region.  Not sure how Beaver draws their map to determine boundary lines.  Every key/region has an owner and only that owner can purchase that specific key or lock code.  So if you buy a route or used Beaver machines, chances are that those locks are protected.  Now the original lock/key owner can transfer the key "rights" to another vendor via a letter of transfer from the original owner - which is what a former vendor did for me when I purchased her route.

A royal pain to say the least!  And quite silly in this day and age of auctions and nationwide internet selling.

But to answer your question...

Beaver will not sell me a replacement key since I am not the "owner" in my region for that key.  They are the only supplier I know of with this key policy.

Who ever came up with that should be fired. If you have 10 guys close all buying beavers then they all well get same code. Not secure at all. If one of those guys transfers then no telling who gets it lol.

Their key policy has been effect for a while.  The responsible party is probably long gone.  Not sure how long ago that decision was made.  Maybe the 70's or 80's - about as useful as my old 8-track player!  LOL

I called Beaver and got no help. Won't sell me the key.  Went to 2 different locksmith's and neither can cut the key.  I looked up the key code Antonio used and ordered 2 of them.  I'll cut them myself when they come in.
