Paid $30 for both racks. Pretty sweet!

Two questions, what are the best locks to replace the ones I picked off these and...

Are these A&A 2 inch the ones that you can't go paste $.50 coin mechs?

Thanks for the info! I am going to need .75 mechs and 12 locks along with a brush or two. There were some graphics which peeled on the 1 in machines. Plus 1 and 2 inch product. I assume a&a would be the place to call?

Oh yeah $12 in the machines. Sweet.

I hear 2 inch sucks so are cheaper toys better at .50 and will your volume be higher than .75 which requires more coins? Or is a good chaser and .75 the way to go on 2 in.?

Great find on all that gear. Not going to be easy to get it back into working shape, but well worth it in the end. Those 30" cap machines are nice as you can usually fit a whole box of caps in there.

New parts for the lot can be found through A&A. Locks too. The only part I'd recommend going elsewhere to get are the coin mechs. Northwestern mechs are more reliable in my opinion, and have the drop through feature to prevent jamming, which really comes in handy in rougher locations. Totally compatible with the machines there, no tools or anything required as they just drop in.

For toys, I'd recommend going $1.00, $.75, $.75. Remember, it is far easier to move your price-point down later if it doesn't sell than up when you want to make more money. My go-to $1.00 toy are Yo-Yo's, either A&A or Allstar. They sell like wild year round at $1.00, and they've been in their inventories for much longer than any "hot" toy has been. For the other two, experiment a little. Mustaches, Jewelry, and sticky things are all terrific sellers year-round, but feel free to look around and experiment a little to see what works and sells best for you. Good luck!

Understood, but I am curious if $5 per panel is high or not. I will go to Lowes and see. Thanks for the response. I have to buy 4x5 so 20 @ $5. If I can get them at $2-3 locally then I want to save that money!!!

PS I am spending the time and money, having a ball also!!!

But will get it done at the least cost.

If you were counting time then yes, but cost is going to be about $200 total for 2 racks. I am using spare time at night/weekend to do all my vending business so at this point I am looking to save that money and build up.

The yoyo balls?

I wouldn't buy rough machines like that. By the time you referb them time and parts you could buy new.

I agree, but sometimes when you start out, a person's time isn't counted because they aren't as busy as some, and returning machines is a great learning experience!

I still enjoy it if I have the time.

Good question, exactly what yo-yo's are we talking about?

I am finding that 1 inch toys need to be at .50 correct?

I switched ALL my 1" to .50 except Bouncy Balls. Guess what? Made more money! Sales didn't slow hardly at all, so I basically doubled my profit! Also, if you go that route, try to sell a little bit better stuff. Like TNT uses predominately higher end stuff without the cost going up.

Alright so I got the 5 way all done except waiting on some locks and mech upgrade kits etc.

I went with Galaxy Goo and Yo-Yo balls for 2 inch and mustache for 1 inch.

I am going to run gumballs and candy but will replace candy with super balls.

1 inch toy will be .50, gumball .25, candy/bouncy .25.

I am going to try as suggested to start with .75 and 1.00 on 2 inch

Now here is my question, which to put at 1.00, galaxy goo or yo-yo balls???

BTW all advice was correct in this thread. Refurbing old machines is a lot of work. I did save some good money but I worked for it. I hope to use these two racks and the bulk heads I have to flip more racks. Will probably buy new ASAP.

I have 3 c-stores very close to me, I am thinking those will be a good starting point for these racks?

Will post a pic when it's all done and filled.

My product and parts will be in tomorrow and A&A was more than helpful and very quick. Ordered on Monday, got tracking quickly and they had everything I ordered in stock. Cmiller had put me in the system due to a pm but the lady that picked up took my order, without product or part codes by the way (I would say a .50 mech for pn95 and so on) she even held the order for me to call back and edit then finalize.

So far I like A&A equipment and service, let's see how the order is filled.

Thanks again for all the help folks this forum has saved me a ton of failure.

So I am stoked that the first rack is about ready to roll.

I have 3 c-stores literally within one block of me, there are smaller but there are a lot of apartments around and neighborhood kids.

Would these be a good starting point as far as location goes?

My other thinking was to hit the mexican/china/pizza places semi-close with traffic but no existing racks.

If c-stores is the best way, then he is where I stand...

After getting it all together I wish I would have went with all toys but I didn't. I want to place it this weekend.

I don't have time to order more stuff and wait, I needs them quarters.

So I have left, a gumball wheel, a 1 inch capsule wheel and a bunch of candy wheels.

I only have sams as an option, gumballs is a given.

So last selection, in a c-store setting, I want to avoid competing with there candy so...

What bulk candy can I find at sams like chewy sprees, etc that may sell well but not give the impression of competing with their product selection, any ideas?

Or should I just be patient and order some more mech upgrades and toys then go with the only toy approach but miss at least a week of business?

Thanks in advance for your time,

Wayne.

I am having some product weight issues with these 30 inch heads. If I fill the galaxy goo or yoyo balls to capacity I get misvends 50% of the time until 1/3 is gone then it frees up and vends perfectly.

I really liked the idea of a full box of product going in but the product weight issue sucks and 30 inch makes the racks a tad high for mini van transport so I think I'll buy 25 inch when buying new.

There is the "mushroom" looking baffle that slides down the center rod and it was being lifted by the product when you try to vend with a full load and not doing the job.

Add 1 - 2 mushrooms on the center rod. That should solve your problem m
