Makes Cents
Cocoa futures have already jumped from $2,700 per ton and is now $3,155 per ton, 17% more, all in the last two months. If it stays at that level or gets higher I dont see how we wont feel it. bye–bye M&Ms Full line guys will be affected as well. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/10/ebola-chocolate-industry-africa-effects-111809.html

Hillbilly
They will start making them smaller and in smaller packaging. That's what happened to everything else. Price will stay or go up though.

kdub3821
I have switched over to runts, chewy spree, toys and gum instead of all chocolate. I keep the best selling chocolate in each locations. It's going to suck not having peanut mm's. They are a great sellers in my area.
TWvend
They have already shrunk the daylights out of candy. Peanut Butter Cups size is half of what they used to be . They have shrunk all the candy bars and now have a "king size" for over $2.00 at convenience stores. This "king size" is even smaller than what regular candy bars used to be. The convenience stores are part to blame for where prices are today. They have been charging more than double what other stores charge for candy for many years now and the sad thing people pay it. I have seen posts in the recent past here where locations wont allow us to charge $1.00 for a candy bar , plus if we do , the customers complain , yet they pay outrageous prices at a convenience store. huynhhh
Quick question since we talking about candy already Are regular m&ms more profitable? I did some calculation and you can get 300% return on investment on a case of m&ms (vending 10) As opposed to pmm where you only get 200% .. Why don't we use plain m&ms more?!
