Growliebusters
What to pay a locater for soda locations? Snack ? ice cream or other specialty vending machines? I've never paid a locater, I work a full time job and have managed to do my own locating. Granted, I don't have many machines yet, but I have managed to find some very profitable locations. And just recently purchased an existing route. Everything I've read here is that locaters are not really your best option. They just want to hear a "yes" and then you get to figure out if its worth it. And they still get paid regardless. My opinion, don't even go there. rodney69
What to pay a locater for soda locations? Snack ? ice cream or other specialty vending machines That's a good question. If your going to pay a locator though, reputation and them following through is worth more than the amount I think. We charge more than some on bulk, but we have no complaints. Then there are others that are cheaper and have nothing but complaints. It is better to locate for yourself, but even I hire one of my employee's to work in my area because I get to used to seeing whats there or not and don't have an open mind. We're as of late starting to locate soda in some area's, but again, we're not the cheapest either. Let me know if you need help.
sherlock
I would pay them money. But, that's just me. That's a good question. If your going to pay a locator though, reputation and them following through is worth more than the amount I think. Rodney sums it up very well. You have to be careful pjvend. Price can not always represent the worth of a locator's service. And regardless of the amount paid, you don't always get what you pay for. I've had low cost locators come through with great locations. And I've had more expensive locators just flat-out blow in terms of locating. But I've experienced the reverse, too. Poplady1
Contact each of the locating services and ask them for the current rates on drinks and snacks. I did that a few months ago...average was $525 each. Cheapest was $400 highest was Prime at $625. We charge $880 flat on 65 emp blue collar up to 99 65 office up to 100 $600 flat. 100 to 150 mfg $1200 flat office 100 to 150 $880 flat. Hope that helps. Randy S Mire
I do locating in the Houston area and if my customer isn't happy with the location then I will replace the location free of charge but with the understanding that I get the original location back and at that time I will set the location and run it to see what it does and have a spreadsheet on its actual income .
