Anything I want in a movie theater...what to get?

So I have one of my cotton candy machines in a movie theater, and the owner came up to me saying he's kicking out the video game guy (I only did cotton candy for him, another guy had 3 video game arcade machines).  The movie theater owner wants a prize game (claw or keymaster or stacker, basically whatever I want).

Condition:  I can only put in ONE machine.  I know this sounds strange, but he really wants the machines in this one particular corner of the lobby, and he won't bend (been trying for over 1 year to get him to expand to allow for more machines, but he's not interested)

I get to choose the machine/prizes/everything....he just wants the monthly check ;)  (I'm pretty sure the reason the arcade games are getting the boot is they do next to nothing compared to my cotton candy, so he likes me a whole lot more).

I currently have $5,000 in earnings from vending set aside for more equipment, but could add another $3,000 of my personal money to this amount if $5K isn't enough for a GOOD machine.  I really don't want to go "much" higher then $8,000 though.  And I do want a quality/reliable/good machine and am willing to pay extra.  My cotton candy machine looks NICE at this location, and appearance matters to the owner.  And the numbers are insane high at this spot, so investing in good/quality equipment is worth it.  (not that I'm opposed to used, the vast majority of my machines are used, I just want quality used if that makes sense).

So that's where I'm at guys.  What would you guys put int?  I was thinking a keymaster...but would LOVE your guy's input since you are 1000x more knowledgeable then me :D

Thanks in advance :D

Put in a Keymaster and load it full of Ipod's, Ipad minis, and Beats Headphones. I have a Keymaster and it earns top dollar every week. I have to go about every 10 days to empty it because the coin bucket will almost be over filled and also have a big stack of $$$ in it as well.

keymaster is great option. Another option that is good since you have so much space is the "drop the hook" game. I personally don't run any on my routes but a good friend who has a lot bigger route than me is on me to get these, says they are blowing his key masters away in big spots as he can put the x-box one etc in this as the prize area is so much bigger as its a big machine.

He said its newer and the fad hasn't worn as much as key master. down fall is key master could be moved about to other stops as the cabinet size is more location friendly.

Keymaster should be a winner.  My Bike Rally (Baytek) does very well.  It is available as Road Trip which is the same with out the Biker theme.

Bang for the buck a simple Smart MP4 crane blows them out of the water.  Much cheaper to buy and brings in the same kind of money.  You will need to get creative with the prizes though one people get used to the MP4's and the numbers drop.  Keep them interested.

Thanks so much for this post Ron, I really appreciate it :D

I checked out drop the hook on youtube and it looks pretty cool.  By any chance do you know the best place to buy it from, I've never bought amusement games new before ;)

For the keymasters, do you guys only put in small prizes so the prizes can be in the machine?  Or do you guys run bigger prizes, put a display in the machine, and then have the location keep the big prizes on hand?  Do you make people mail in the big prize displays and then mail them their prize?

I really like drop the hook for big/cool prizes.  But I really like keymaster for I can "easily move if I get kicked out of the movie theater and get it relocated."

I don't own a Keymaster but what I've read is the owners put an empty box with their phone number and a special code on it and when someone wins one they call you and then you deliver to location. I believe this is how it is done. Those of you who own one please correct me if I'm wrong.

Keymaster is the way to go.  Just wanted to add that BMIgaming shows a mini keymaster coming soon.  I would not recommend buying from bmigaming but it is a good site to see what new games are available and get an idea of what they cost.  I'm hoping the mini will come out priced at 2500-3000 making it work for smaller locations.

With my Keymasters I run some larger prizes that won't fit using a display card.  I usually have them contact me and send my a picture holding the card as proof.  I then take the prize to the location for them to pick up at their leisure.  I usually try and get the display card back as well to reuse.

Stay the heck away from BMI gaming for sure.  Used them once at regretted it.  Terrible business and crappy people.

I put all my actual big prizes in the Keymaster. I run the entire bottom row with Ipod Nano's, the top row with Ipad Mini's and then I mix it up with headphones and $100 giftcards on the middle row. All the rows are set to payout at the same price. From what I have seen, Keymasters are a pretty hard machine to break into(unless you break the glass, but thats the easy way for everything) and I have not had any problems with keeping high dollar prizes in the games.

Not sure where you are but there are two auctions comming up. Gathlinburg this weekend and TX next month. I would not buy new merchandisers because there are plenty good used out there. With it being the only game you can go with a lower end game with good prizes.

I'm in northern Idaho (right by Spokane WA) so unfortunately I've never seen any auctions around where I live :(

I did check craigslist and found nothing.

I checked ebay, and basically would save $1K, but then have to deal with it maybe not being shipped properly, dealing with a used machine etc.  I thought for $6K new vs. $4-5K used it was worth going the new route.

Like I said though, I usually go the used route.  I just can't find anything around me.

Try giving Impulse Industries a call and see if they have any used stuff they want to sell.  I bought a used a Keymaster from them and it was in better than new condition.  They added a bunch of nice graphics that made it look better.  Not sure if they will have anything right now but you never know.

I'd  with Betson Industries for your first purchase. They have a great reputation amongst my customers. At the larger end, add in MP3-4's and other electronics, but since it's a movie theater, don't forget licensed toys. Turtles, Minions, superheros, etc.
