Only took her 8 months to get me in. The building is a 10 story office building with probably 400+ employees. And as of now they don't want a commission, just good solid service (unlike previous vendor/cafe owner) I already have the snack machine in stock but I want a glass front. I have 2 options that are ready for purchase immediately. Both are in excellent condition. Which would be the better purchase for customer useage and my long term usage? Option 1) Dixie narco 5800-4 for $4200 Option 2) Dixie narco 5591 for $1600 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A used 5800-4 is a better option than the 5591 though. Both are food but the 5800 is just better. Can you put an extra stack vendor in there? AZVendor Posted October 21, 2014 Share Posted October 21, 2014 If you're going for the fanciest you can find then the 5800-4 is the best choice. If it's truly a Bev 4 then it's the only one of all the elevator machines from DN that you will want. They have had a long, hard road getting those elevator models to be reliable and the Bev 4 is the one that is. However, don't be shy about getting the serial number off of it and calling DN to see if it's a current model and if there are any updates that it would require. Just realize that this machine has lots of parts because of the elevator such as motors, sensors, harnesses, solenoids, and on and on. Don't get scared because your machine could go years without an issue. You just never know; they can be like used cars. The 5591 will be a workhorse for you also as long as it's properly set up in the beginning and you don't move products around. That machine should have product pushers on each selection, dual drop sensors, anti-pilver delivery bin and the product slide should be clean and then kept clean. The proper set up requires correct spacers attached to each gate so that your products vend correctly. These spacers are the key and if you change any products you must ensure that the correct spacers are again used. There is also a "retry limit" in the programming that works in conjunction with the drop sensors to allow a customer to make additional attempts to vend a stuck item, or another item if their choice won't come out, before they get their money back. This is a very valuable feature and it performs a "guaranteed vend" task like newer snack machines do. If both machines are location ready and they both check out then it comes down to how much you want to invest and will the sales warrant that investment. If this looks like a long term deal then go for the Bev 4 which will better hold it's value. Just make sure you know a good service tech who can fix it, program it, and understands it so you aren't stuck with a broken machine not knowing what to do. If you're not certain of a good service tech and you won't be finding one in the future then get the 5591 without the fancy elevator. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rmorris1953 Posted October 21, 2014 Share Posted October 21, 2014 AZ is correct... Both vendors are good... Both require the glides to be cleaned on a regular basis. Al tho the 5800 are a good machine they can be problematic and require some mechanical abilities. The newer 5800 will have LED lighting. It will also have a red control board. If it doesn't have one or both then it isn't the newest. $4200 is a lot of money and will take a while to pay off. On a 5591 make sure it has the anti theft gates on the delivery chute. If it doesn't it will have to be upgrade or they will be able to cheat it by reaching in the bottom and stealing off bottom shelf. Also make sure the drop sensors have been upgraded to the new ones that reflect a light beam on the reflector on the opposite side. The latter models of the 5591's had electronic cold controls and were the latest of the 5591's. My choice would be the 5591 because it is the cheapest and the easiest to work on. This account could be a very good one and then again it might not be. If it turns out to be good upgrade later and use the 5591 somewhere else. I'm a small player in vending so I'm going to go the more conservative/safer route. The guy that has the bevmax4 for sale has 3 of them and isn't in any hurry to sell them. I remember seeing them back in March when I bought their ATM business. The company I'm getting the 5591 is going to take in trade some of my older soda machibes. delb101 Posted October 26, 2014 Share Posted October 26, 2014 I would go with the DN5591...I bought one a couple months ago and went to signazon.com and they created me a glass decal for the top part of the door (the first 6" ) with my locations logo and name for about $30...The location loves it ...they think I went out and spend a whole bunch of money personalizing their own vending machine....a coat of paint and it looked like a brand new machine personalized just for my location. (in reality I can remove the decal any time I want) My sales increased $10 a day switching over to a glass front 5591 (I had a Royal Merlyn 650 before) The only thing I hate about it is loading...it take much longer to load this machine because you have to all the drinks out to put the new ones in back. Thank Goodness I use Vagabound to monitor my inventory so I only have a few left when I go to service the location.
