Time for a website?

Ok, it seems that we have gotten pretty busy on the locating end of things. So it might be time to start up a website to help streamline the process. I've had to hire more help to keep things smooth.

The question is: website address? I think it needs to be simple and include what we do. So I'm reaching out for ideas!

Only one I've come up with is www.(Removed at posters request).com

Any input will be much appreciated!

That's a winner! I would grab that asap. I was very surprised that it was even available.

Remember, you don't have to settle for just one domain name. You can have as many as you want all pointing to your site. We have a bunch that point here to TVF.

So don't be hesitant to buy names as you come up with them. If you think of another one later, you can always buy it too. If you don't, someone else will.

Thank you. I'm pretty new to websites. I've always just had uturn customers coming and never expanded. Now things are moving pretty good.

we even have tossed around some soda locating.

What about a facebook page? Anymore I think facebook pages are more productive than websites in certain circumstances and sometimes even forums

that will come after the website for sure.

Depends on what you want your website to do.

Do you want free traffic from google/bing to convert into paying customers or do you want a brand building domain you can refer people to for the collection of information. Is it a destination for existing customers or do you intend to generate new leads?

Your best use of domain name is two prong.

A. Easy to convey via word of mouth? If I tell you once do you remember it? And if you can fit your brand in but B. is more important...

B. Keywords. One factor in SEO is what keywords are contained in a domain name.

So the IMO the use of the "locator" would better than "location" if in fact there were more per month searches for "vending locators" than "vending locations". The plural "s" is silent in SEO. And even if there were less searches for locator than location the word locator is more targeted.

But all of this is a small fraction in SEO the more important factor is content and marketing.

BTW NEVER EVER post a domain you are thinking of buying but have not. Cut throat world and I should register this one and hold it hostage because I know you are interested. And I should buy all variations you may want and wait for your call. I would be surprised if someone has not registered the one you posted if you haven't.

Just giving you an example, I wouldn't do that to you or anyone but that is the game.

The "4u" at the end probably makes you safe in this case but you let out your keywords. Not trying to make anyone paranoid it's just not a good idea to post the domains you want but don't already own.

As far as the original question of this thread, website address?

I would look for a more direct keyword related domain.

To give it a number:

www.vendinglocations4u.com

Drop the www. it's never needed. Not in conversation/print or when typing it in address bars or coding it. It's the same as the 1 in a telephone number before the area code, rarely needed.

vendinglocations4u.com

vending +1 location +1 (s)N/A 4 -1 u -1 = 0

You kill the strength of vending+locations with the extra characters. Now it's 50% targeted to vending+locations rather than 100%

So as far as helping you keyword wise it's a zero sum name.

As for word of mouth and print, too hard to convey easily.

Hey man, visit my site vending locations with an s number 4 letter u dot com. Did you get it? Naw let me write that down.

On a billboard: Did you see that vending site name honey? Yeah something like vendinglocations40.com I think.

But if you are just throwing up a site, don't have much competition and only plan to link people to the site then any name will do.

Ok, so I got the website name and is in the process of being built. I think this will help streamline things a little or at least make it easier for customers. That's my goal. That way they don't have to track me down for info. Up until this time, I didn't really need it. I just had the group from Uturn and so on.

Now we've started to grow, and word of mouth has made it to where it's time to either pick up the pace or step off. I'm not one to go backwards much unless it's planned to leap forward.

I will have to admit, that the people that we have met here on the forum have been a wonderful group of people and customers. Thank you for all of your support and help with not only our route (which is my end goal), but also for the word of mouth and great customers for the locating.

The website is: www.vendinglocator4u.com, it's not up quite yet, but soon!!!!
