Grazing Hippo Vending
Does anyone run these land a quarter games? I am looking at the units that Sheridan now has for sale. They are about $38 each and have a monthly royalty of $1.80 per unit as well. They come with labels and are part of the Candy for a Cause pink ribbon displays. The prize is a 2 night/3 day vacation. Are servicing these a pain in the neck? How long do you go between servicing? How often should the water be switched out? Do you add any chemicals or anything to the water? Thanks! Grazing Hippo Vending
I received an email about it a couple of weeks ago. Margaret from Sheridan also called me yesterday. Maybe they are waiting to see if it starts to catch on before listing it on their website? I feel like I read a negative post about these awhile back. I cant find it though. I am reqlly on the fence with them. I may grab a few and plug them in to some locations and let the quarters fall where they will...

Grazing Hippo Vending
Thanks Sherlock! That was exactly the post I was thinking about. If I end up getting a few these, I would want to place them in locations where my honor boxes have been declined. I was thinking along the lines of doctor and dentist offices. Im really like 60/40 split at this point. 60% no....
HotOiler3
Thanks Sherlock! That was exactly the post I was thinking about. I've noticed from browsing the forum that Sherlock is the MASTER of finding posts. I find it quite amazing actually.
redmms250713
what would you offer at the doc/dentist locations, the vacation thing? Has anyone ever used these with the vacation voucher? Does the winner need to do anything in order to get it? Like watch a speech or anything?
NewbieVendor
I'm going to give the Land a Quarters a try. I am just starting out with the honor box business. Part time. My girlfriend and I will be running it. I already have 25 boxes that I am going to locate myself, but we are ordering about 35 more boxes and 15 land a quarter games from Sheridan Systems. I called Margret today, and tomorrow on 11/14 I am going to place my order. I am also hiring the in person locator they use to locate for us since we really don't have time to do so right now. Plus as newbies we would like some secure locations to ease our minds. The reason they aren't on the website is because she is currently only offering them to those in the pink ribbon program (that's why they aren't on the site). However I expressed my extreme interest and she decided to go ahead and let me order them. I believe they are somewhere between $34-38. She said they are pretty limited. Once I have all my boxes and games located I will post an update, as well as weekly/bi weekly/monthly updates about profits and figures. Thank you all! redmms250713
what did they charge you for the 25 shipped? thats pink ribbon right? im looking into getting the same exact thing.
NewbieVendor
I got the 25 pink ribbon boxes for like 100 something. My order of 9 land a quarter games and 25 boxes was $538 with shipping included. They only sell land a quarter in packs on 9. $1.80 per month royalties. redmms250713
wit the vacations, do they have to do anything to get it? i dont see anyone selling a vacation to us for $1 lol
NewbieVendor
That's the only part im a tad bit sketchy about. She literally told me that you can just go onto the website that's written on the display and just fake that you won the vacation. She said that people are probably going to do that and not to worry about it. The catch is that A) you get a free vacation but you have to sit through a long sales pitch, or no sales pitch, but you have to pay all sorts of taxes and fees. I'll keep updating on how they go. I'm planning to start placing them no later than Monday.
redmms250713
not sure if i like that... i put mine in a movie store and offer a free rental so it dont cost me anything, and really not even the store owner... think its only given one so far, and collected about $30 in like 2 or 3 months. not much but adds to my other stuff there so its kinda a plus. NewbieVendor
Yea I have the option to give a free whatever. I'm probably gonna do the free stuff, based on wherever I place them. Thinking about placing them at pizza places and restaurants and offering a free slice or soda or something.
