HAVending is the biggest in Central Alabama.

No not really. That would be Mitchell. We have slowed up this year but we were the only ones really growing over the past few years. There is 4 large bulk companies based here near Birmingham each with 2500 plus heads but only one growing at all is us. The others are content with where they are. LJ is a couple hours north he runs things up that way al well as down here.

Does anyone know how these large companies service their locations when they're far apart? For example NEN has toysrus in my area and little or nothing else. Is some NEN employee driving 30 minutes between toysruses one day a month, then moves to a neighboring state? Or does NEN hire someone local in each area? So many inefficiencies in either method. I have to say, their setup here is nice. New looking machines, clean, neat, very well presented.

NEN, Sega, Nichols and dimes use some local employees to service. SV runs it all from MO. It's also a good selling point when trying to take their locations. The fact that they do basically nothing economically for the states they service.

Bulk only my guess is SV. NEN is and empire but just chains. SV has chains and most every mom and pop in 37 states.

A couple of members here myself included ( the others will speak up if they wish) have been contacted by NEN in a attempt to purchase our routes. So that tells me they service more than just chains or atleast they are attempting to move into Mom and Pops with bulk and cranes.

Would not surprise me if they are going after some good local accounts. But with deep pockets along with dedicated marketing and sales teams they can probably just take accounts and not buy them if they wanted. One thing to keep in mind is that often times the local hired help to service accounts also own their own routes. Would not surprise me it the used the NEN name and history to try and get accounts.

It doesn't matter how big a company is or how deep their pockets are, as long as you provide good service, product and have your machines properly

maintained you'll never get swallowed up by any large operator.  The problem that these large operators face is that they are running out of places to

install machines on a national level, and the places that they have are probably not that great anyway.  A location is only going to do so much revenue.

It was a female rep from NEN, I told her I was busy and would call her back later but never did. I found out from another vendor on these boards what it was about.

Your sadly mistaken If you think a vendor who is doing the right things has nothing to worry about. There have been many accounts taken from good operators. As much as we all dislike SV over all they do a good job and they get kicked often. Will doing the right things help sure but never let your guard down.

They are very big. They do it all also bulk, cranes, merchandisers , kiddie rides etc. they also do many street accounts. Much of which was bought from Cardinal distribution.

Where are you going to put all that equipment in a mom & pop store.  If your going to put all that into 1 location, it better do alot of street trafic.

What type of locations are you talking about?  Large Chains?

I was contacted by NEN a couple of months ago.  I told the lady that I was not interested in selling my route.  She told me that NEN can partner with me to place kiddie rides and amusement machines (cranes and arcade games) in my accounts.  I told her that I would keep NEN in mind if any opportunities arose.
