(see below) (36) new in the box 25 cent machines (worth $75ea) $2,700 (1) new in the box 5hr energy drink machine (worth $2,000) (25) used u-turn machines (worth around $115ea) $2,875 (1) Used Bill Changer (worth $250) (1) Video Game (worth $850) needs to be placed on location) (5) Gas Pump gumball machines (worth $600ea) Misc parts Three shelving units (worth $150ea) Storage bins for candy Asking $30k for it. How do you guys feel about this one? Just looking to get started, thought it would be a good one to start and expand on with the inventory they have in storage. For the machines in storage, the prices are very high. It lists "25 cent machines new in box..." at $75 each...only new Beavers would fetch that price. Not knowing the brand, $10-30 each. Uturns are not worth $115 each, more like $40-50 each. 5 hour energy machines are an oddball and I've seen them for around $100-300 brand new. Not $2000! Like Gage said, I double dog dare you to try and sell a 5-hr energy for $2000, a used bill changer for $250 or a gas pump gumball for $600. And if he used that math to value the equipment I can only assume he's using similar math to value the route. I'd pass if the monthly gross isn't well over $4000. shepherdsflock Posted December 10, 2014 Share Posted December 10, 2014 If it doesn't gross at least $30,000 per year, tell him to keep dreaming. The extra equipment is worth nothing in my opinion. Some people might place a value on it, but I wouldn't. You're buying a business to make money. Machines that are sitting idle making nothing are worth less than nothing. They are making no money and require your time and space to store and organize; they should be classified as liabilities not assets. Machines that are in locations are worth their ability to generate revenue. Typically in bulk, machines on location are worth 1 year's gross. Whatever the route grosses annually is what I would offer. Remember, these extra machines are in storage for a reason: he couldn't find locations for them. There's a good chance you won't either. Assign them zero value. If you're really feeling generous, research the going rate for this stuff on craigslist and ebay and offer half of that or less since you'll have time and money involved in listing and shipping the stuff. You also need to know what the route earns and how he can substantiate those earnings. Let him know you are serious by asking for specifics. Otherwise, it seems like you're just kicking the tires. If the seller can't or won't give you specifics, run away from this sale. No one could expect to sell their vehicles if they only advertise them as "a truck" and "a 2 door car". Post the brands/specifics and what DOCUMENTED earnings are for the route. Then folks here can give you a better idea of what the route is truly worth. The machines in place are about an equal mix of northwestern racks, oak racks and Uturn terminators. The video games are older games that make about $350 a month after commission. If you have that much to invest, I would read more. Your buying someone else's problems. Especially if there is lots of uturns out on route. You could start fresh with good equipment and make more. FrCorey Posted December 11, 2014 Share Posted December 11, 2014 yes, way too much on the uturns. and how fresh is the candy and supplies? the video games are not worth 850 unless they are a few years old. less then 2 are the locations on contract, or can they tell you to get lost if they want? for what you want to spend on this, you can make a hell of a route of your own. Thank you guys for the help. Rodney if I do purchase this I'll need help locating! The terminator will all need too be replaced to make it worth it when you run it. The equipment I'm seeing other than the NW and oak, isn't helping. Don't count the stuff in storage. You'll only get about 50 on the uturn stuff if they're inn good shape and will take forever to sell. I would only consider the income from the racks as viable.
