We have been working with a charity program to help restructure it and get it into hands that are very diligent about how smooth things run. I don't back something unless I believe in it and am willing to take the heat for it, so not many!

We have used the charity before and had the best results I've seen from vending charities in general, but the person that ran the site before, wasn't good on communication or on sending items out when ordered as some of you have seen before.

For us the locations went quick, better spots and some hard to get ones. We even offer a discount for locating the machines that are signed up with St. Judes and are Vendiscuss members.

Any ways, you get the point. I had told a few members I would let them know first and give them a heads up first, and did, so now I'm letting everyone else know that vend2help is under new management and if you use St. Judes for the donations, the locations go in 10 times easier.

No, I don't get anything if you don't use us to locate your machines, BUT I have received more from everyone on here that has helped me to restructure my vending business so it will be 10 fold anything I have in the past with less work and more profit, so I thought I would share.

If you have any issues signing up or whatever, just let me know and I'll make a call to fix it.

Thank you again everyone for your help. I will share anything and everything I can as you have done for me.

I wasn't going to post but this seems wrong.

I have donated to St Judes in the past and was very interested in this vend2help program and contacted St Judes. The information I got is they do not support a vending program directly or indirectly.

Here is link to types of programs they dont associate with, vending is listed, so is telemarketing

They do have corporate partners but according to the information I got vend2help.org is not one of them. They also have a St. Jude at work program but its not meant to be used to soliciting new business.

It may make locating easier but It seems to St Judes does not want to have their name associate with charity vending.

If vend2help has a written agreement with St Judes please provide it so we can verify. If there is an agreement with them then I apologize in advance, if not then, frankly, using their name to solicit new business is the kind of thing that gives charity vending a bad name.

That is true, we looked into out, and yes you can't have a label on the machine that says st. Judes, BUT this is set up the way they said it can be done according to their standards.

I assure you. They accept donations from vend2help, but the label can't say st. Judes due to past problems.

I'll see what I can dig up on the agreement.

I haven't had a chance to check on contracts and so on, nor do I know if I will have the time. My goal was to make everyone aware that wanted to use a charity system that it was available and it works great for locations, better than great.

I was just letting everyone know that it's available. As I said, I'm not a part of it, I just know that management changed hands and know the manager.

I also give discounts for people using the labels due to the ease of locating. That's all.

All I'm doing is trying to help vendors get better locations or let them know its possible.

Most bigger charities won't deal directly with vending due to the problems of getting sued, to many phone calls due to machines being empty and so on.

It was just a statement. If you have questions about their eligibility or anything about their program, feel free to contact them.

Anybody currently using vend2help? If your sending them the money how do confirm the money is going to the charity you choose? If there just the middleman then why not just make your own charity stickers and send the money yourself that way at least you got something you can show locations when asked? I might have missed this info on their site so if anybody is already using them and knows answer please fill in.

Well, that I don't know. I personally use vending charities as a vending tool. I have other charities that I donate to. All labels are considered a business write off, not a charitable write off. So I've never looked that deep.

Yes, there is a letter that states the money is going to whatever charity you choose, just like NCCS and all the rest.

NCCS and all the rest authorize and issue their letters and provide stickers. I could find no information that this charity authorized vend2help or any vending program, in fact vending programs are against their policy.

Just because someone prints a letter on letterhead and uses the charity name  dosent mean its authorized even if they do send donations.

Absent an authorization letter from St Judes my opinion is this is just a way some folks invented to use a well respected charity's name even though they didnt have their permission

For vendors considering doing this think how easy it will be for another vendor to bump you by showing the location the charity webpage prohibiting vending. What about a location calling the charity. What about receiving a 'cease and desist' letter from the charity.

I don't how trustworthy the site you recommended is.

If you click on their "trusted suppliers" tab NEITHER of their locating partners are active locators. Click the link for "First Choice Locators" and you are taken to some website in the UK that sells Nike sneakers! Click the link for the other bozo locator and it takes you to some generic vending site (not a locator site).

No offense Rodney (YOU seem like a nice guy) but your site recommendation may be a bit on the shifty side.

I see your point, there is someone in the middle of working on the site. I was trying to give people the first shot at it. This will be the last time I do so.

No big deal, just trying to help. I just happened to know the person that just took over on sending labels out and management of that end of it. Like I said, it's easy to locate for, but from now on, I will only be doing this for customers and offer the deals to them first.

I was just trying to give back or thought I was. If I could delete the post I would. It won't happen again.

Thank ill stick with a local charity I support that offers resources for adults with disabilities that helps empower and enrich their lives. I know exactly what goes to the charity and I'm friends with the marketing/pr person and have seen first hand the good they do.

Great points, Makes Cents.

Had a similar experience the Children's Miracle Network.  A number of years ago, I had contacted the local group here and I received a very cold reception.  First off, they said that they have NO VENDING OUTREACH program.  Second, they do not authorize their name on any vending machine.  Got a lecture from them about vendors using their name to solicit the placing of vending machines and NOT getting paid promptly on a regular basis.  They flat out told me of a number of negative experiences they had with vending machine operators and were no longer interested in any type of vending program.  They told me that they do have a relationship with Walmart and only Walmart is authorized to use their name.  They told me that if they discover any other machines with their name, they would have it removed.

Now of course any charity will accept a donation,  But in their minds, the ends did not justify the means.

No harm done.  That's why it's good to have a community of people to bounce this stuff off of.

Agreed. A good topic to bounce around.  The lesson here IMHO is that excessive charity spin can get vendors AND locators in hot water.

All I know I'd I feel like I got my head ripped off and was perceived on my end that I was trying to be deceitful or something.

What ticks me off it's when someone asks me in private message about it then throttled me in public. Not very helpful.

Inn the future, I will back ONLY my services, and that's it.

Nah, I'd try and take it with a grain of salt.  They probably posted in this thread just to get the word out to everybody reading it, so we we're all more aware about "reading the tea leaves" so to speak when it comes to affiliating with a charity.

Don't take it personally your name and reputation around here speaks for itself. I believe in charity vending but I also believe there's a fine line between honest support and deceitful exploitation. Weather their legit or not I thank it was obvious you were just trying to help vendors with another resource so no harm no foul.

First off rodney 69 I never meant it as an attack on you or imply you were deceitful.

I was directing my comments more about the vend2help and I did so after I inquired about vend2help in pm's with you and tried to verify that they had a official relationship with St Judes before I signed up.

I could find no official relationship, was directed to the webpage prohibiting vending etc etc.

I know you've said you've taken over helping vend2help out, havent verified everything and have used them with vendors when locating with good results.

That being said the real question is now that the legitimacy of the relationship, or lack thereof, between vend2help and st jude has been revealed, will you still offer to locate using the st jude name. If you continue with no verification then I think that would be a disservice to the charity, members here and charity vendors in general. Just my opinion.

That's very odd about the Childers miracle network. Sunshine had a single head 60 in hundreds of walmarts with that exact label. Sunshine had all the games and vending so maybe it was a deal between them

Here's all I have on it. We are a locating company, we are not with any charity, and will locate the charity that any one chooses.

I have watched that charity program work for years, it has problems with the labels being sent out and responses taking to long. That was addressed.

My relationship is with my locating company, God, and my customers.

Other than that, I was just trying to help.

Like Havending said, the miracle network was out there and so are others.

They're are company's or charities that also say they don't work with vendors that even have contracts with vending company's and they tell every one else they don't work with vending company's.

There is way more to it than people realize, but it's not up for me to discuss.

We locate machines, not offer charities. I also have a route, that's the extent of it.

That's my part.

Yes, I saw a single head gumball in a Walmart near me with Children's Miracle Network label as well.  But it was sitting right next to the big donation bin inside the store (not in the vestibule area next to the door).  I was told by a Walmart GM that CMN is the only charity that Walmart supports.  So it was most likely authorized by both parties.  So the crane and game vendor probably has the gumball contract as well, but not sure since I saw no ID info on the gumball machine.

Obviously, CMN will trust Walmart (to do the right thing) and visa-versa.  So a corporate level deal was probably done for those gumball machines.  But for the average Joe bulk candy vendor, it is highly unlikely or impossible to get a CMN approval.

Yes! Exactly! Now call The Children's Network and ask them if their affiliated with bulk vending! The answer will be either no way, our we can't discuss contracts!

Everything is not always add simple as it seems. Nor can everything always be verified.

When someone hires an employee, they usually sign a non compete, and a non disclosure. Of not, then it's too easy for everyone else to do the same thing.
