Growliebusters
Trying to figure out what bulb goes in this unit. Lighting supplier said its all on the ballast but I cant find a ballast. I see the starter and what appears to be a transformer mounted on the door at the top. I followed all the wires right back to where they go in behind the coin mech and power supply, no ballast. Sockets are 27in apart. Beyond that, I got nothing. Thanks for any help, Confused

Growliebusters
You're right. National 157. I was at work when I posted. Now I'm in front of it. Oldsheimers kicking in.
AZVendor
The thing you see at the top of the door and are calling a transformer is the light ballast. If you have replaced the light bulb without replacing the starter then you need to try a new FS2 or FS25 starter. Your lighting supplier isn't familiar with the ballast in this machine as it's probably a 14-20W ballast, so there isn't anything particular on it to the bulb you need. All you really need to do is measure the distance between the two light sockets to the nearest inch and then get a T12 bulb in that length. The most likely lengths are 26 and 28 inches. If you can't find one in a T12 size then you can use a T8 lamp but it's life might be shorter since the ballast is sized for a T12 lamp.

Thanks for any help, Confused If you still have the old lamp, the lamp code should be printed on one end - otherwise the ballast should tell you (beware that some of these ballasts are made for a range of lamp sizes so the lamp code would be your best bet)
Growliebusters
Moondog, Unfortunately the light was gone when I bought this machine on location. I'll stop by the lighting supplier in a day or two and see about getting a T12............ or maybe this is the time to go LED!!!! As always, you guys are the greatest! Thanks for the help. If it's a T12F26 you'll pay through the nose for one - I realize that you guys up in Canada are used to paying a premium but it may be time to consider going LED. Cajun's found an Ebay supplier that sells the complete kit for 20 bucks.

It's not very often that I would recommend taking moondogs advice (especially if it concerns football) but when it comes to lighting he know his stuff... I think that why Mike (mission) nicknamed him Moonbeam!! I would go with a LED kit & I would be paying a lot more than $20 here

Growliebusters
Took a picture into lighting supplier. Turns out its a 7 F17T8 /CW. was only 18.00 Its all for naught tho, location where I was placing the machine I couldn't get through the doorway no matter what we tried. The walls where I needed cleareance were not cooperating. Need just a 1/2 inch more. Almost thought of cutting hole in drywall cause I can fix that easy enough. Decided to leave the smaller existing imachine in place. At least I replaced the problem soda machine.
AZVendor
That machine can fit through a doorway if you remove the top and bottom panels that fill the front edge of the cabinets. After removing them then you can clamshell the machine through a doorway.
Growliebusters
I did that. Its how we got it out of the last place. Walls are two close to the door frame to get enough twist to get it through. Just needed another 1/2 inch of wiggle room.
Walta
Taking the door off the machine should get you more than ½ an inch. I it find it is safer choice to disassemble your machine than damage and repair the buildings. People will remember the damage regardless of your repairs quality. Growliebusters
At 100 per hour for the mover, didn't even try that. Its all good, I just wanted to get them a bigger machine with a BV. That main reason for doing anything was the pos soda machine that I had to swap out.
