OLD Dixie Narco worth it?

just went and looked at an old dixie 6 select single priced machine. only reason I'm debating buying this is for its small size. I have had a handful of clients who want smaller machines but I'm unsure how much longer this machine will last. the coin mech is more than likely gonna have to be changed out since it spits quarters almost every time while trying to make a purchase. but other than that the machine is mechanically sound and just needs a good cleaning.

in the pictures you will see the machine has no digital read out and the bill mechanism was an add-on at a later date. the guy is asking $450 but I'm only willing to pay $250.

would like to hear what the pros on this site have to recomend for newbie such as myself trying build his business.

thanks in advanced!

If EVERYTHING works properly aside from the coin mech, and it has a cutout for a validator, then $250 isn't a bad deal... but I will only buy old single-price can machines on-location.  I have never and will never buy single-price can machines for locations.  I try to get locations that are worth spending over $2,000 for a snack and soda machine and I try to get a bottle vendor with MDB.  Most bottle machines with MDB have parts still available and are relatively new compared to single-price machines.

If you need a 6-select can machine, or that one is on-location making money to pay for the machine, then it may be worth it for $250.  It's kind of like buying an old compact car that works well but.. what's the point?

There is nothing wrong with any older DN machine, but this one is a good one to get.  It has a current full length sign in a Magnum door.  The validator is not an "add-on" per se as the machine was built with two cutouts for validators to be installed in.  I see no reason not to buy this as smaller machines like it are usually hard to come by, especially when you need one.

At $450 no way but $250 sounds about right.  The Dixie stackers were built like tanks so I wouldn't worry about any catastrophic failures anytime soon.  You are limited with this machine as it's single priced and you can only sell cans,  but hey, cans are 95% of my sales even though all my machines are multipriced.  You'll never see a digital display on a single priced machine as it has no control board (one less thing to fail) - all pricing is done inside the coin mech.

$450 isn't a bad price if everything works... $125 for a good mech, $125 for a good Validator. $150 for a good compressor.and $50 to take the rest across scales.

I won't sell anything for less than $450 because I can scrape it for parts and make more. And I don't have to deal with it.

Those D/N shimless stacks are beasts and will still be around in 20 years. Little paint and a wash is all it needs.
