incrediguy
I am looking for a solution for vending K-cups since our work breakroom honor box isn't working. I've read some of the suggestions from previous threads here, but I was curious what everyone's opinion was on using a bulk vendor that dispenses 3" capsules. Theoretically you could buy empty capsules and use them to store K-cups and dispense them. I just feel like this might look kinda cheesy. Has anyone tried this? I'd also want to remove the heads and set them directly on a countertop to save space if thats possible. The other thing I saw that's possible is to buy a K-cup booster for a countertop vending machine, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much for a machine. I did see some mechanical countertop vending machines for pretty cheap but I'm not sure if they're worth the money either. If I went that route I could sell some candy as well for extra income. Also I'm not sure if the k-cup booster sold from technivend would work with just any machine, does anyone know? Countertop vending machine: http://www.primevending.com/snack/compact-countertop-snack-vending-machine-ca9.html A third option is something like this: http://www.candymachines.com/Seaga-K-Cup-Coffee-Vending-Machine-P4120.aspx This is pretty pricey but I'm curious if anyone has refurbished/re-purposed a medical supply or laundromat soap vending machine to use for K-cups? Thanks for any help.
incrediguy
And what about vending K-Cups straight from a 2 or 3" capsule vending setup? Without the capsules? A K-Cup is 2" tall almost exactly by about 1.5" wide. I don't own a bulk vending machine, maybe someone has tried this themselves?
AZVendor
The problem with a bulk machine for K cups is that the price is limited to maybe a dollar as the coin mechs are purely mechanical and limited to the coins they can accept. I think you're fighting a losing battle here and it's probably time to give it up as your co-workers are theives.

I calculated that about 45 cups a month were being used while selling at $1 on the honor system. Is it reasonable to predict that more will sell if the price is lowered to $.75? K-cups are not difficult to find at $.35 each.
FrCorey
plus you would be stuck with one type of coffee. or mix them up in one machine and let them gamble.

I'm trying to figure out if U-turn machines can be converted to 2 or 3" capsule vending. Any idea if they do?
