sbishop
I have the opportunity to place a rack in one of the largest flea markets in the city. They want $10 per head per month and there is no commitment. Would you do it and what would you put in there. I'm thinking of a 4 head rack to start. Everything will be $.25 or $.50 to avoid Texas sales tax laws
GagesVending
I would stick a 5-way in but only at .50 and .75-$1. I'd give it two months and if it doesn't pan out to do at least $200 each month, it's not worth it. I say $200 because that'd be a 25% commission. If it did worse, and you have to pull then consider the $50 a locator fee and move on. Those are my thoughts.
Rick
I almost wonder if, at $10 per head, you wouldn't be better off setting a Jr. Giant @ 50 cents for Nerds GB or a Sportsblaster. I wonder if they'd consider a 4 column sticker a single head?

As long as nothing vends for over .50 I do not have to do all the sale tax reporting and I do not even have to have a sales tax number. Right now All I have are vendstars, but I do not want to put them in this location. The choice is $25 per month for anything like a spiral gumball or Wowzie Anything that size. or a rack and $10 per machine. 4 column would be 1 head
rodney69
If you had a Zowie, it would kill it in that location. I had a flea market once, not that big, but it made about 150 a month. I also think 25% commission is a low ball when you figure stuff. That's super low. If you stay under 40% and sell everything at .50, keep your cog under 20% buy using toys and nerds @.50 you'll do good. Like mentioned, use a 4way if you have it and try it. BouncyBalls
I wouldn't worry about sales tax laws. Do you guys really have people in Texas driving around looking for bulk equipment with no tax stickers? If so I would find another state to live in. rodney69
I had a customer about 8 years ago that lived in Tulsa that tried to avoid the tax laws on machines and ended up with his machines all wrapped up with a nasty sticky tape that had the Governments insignia on it and said do not tamper with! It took him more time getting that stuff off than it was worth to buy new he said! LOL!

But they do provide a level playing field. You buy the tax stamps instead of paying sales tax. It is actually much cheaper than paying sales tax. It provides a way where everyone has to pay. If you don't have stickers on your machines they will catch you.

From my research, it looks like they have to pay 75 dollars a year for every head. A 1-800 machine would be 225 a year.

TexasFreemason
It sounds like I was mistaken. Thank you Jayhawk. That would be worth it with decent locations.
