My Week From Hell and/or The Curse of the Pork Rinds

It all stated early last week when I got the go ahead to place my FSI 3013 3 wide in a breakroom that was tight on space but had a whole warehouse of Latinos that were doing $500 a month with my soda machine.  I had completely refurbished this machine a couple of years ago in case I needed one.  Completely with the exception of the selection labels for the two top shelves when I ran out of P-touch tape.  Here's where my fortunes began to take a down hill run.  With the mover on his way over to pick the machine a day early I yanked out my labeler and made the six new labels I needed - A1, A2, A3, B1.B2 and B3 ( anybody see where this is going?)  Unfortubnately the machine has no #2 selection and the labels should have been A1, A3 and A5.   To make things worse, the Pork Rinds were in A5 which was marked A3 and now we have a whole warehouse of Latinos drooling over the Pork Rinds (not just any Pork Rinds but the hot spicy kind) which they can't get and everytime they hit A3 Crunchy Cheestos come out (it's a damn good thing I didn't put the baked chips in there).  So I go out there (50 miles) and find that the machine is not where I intended for it to go, but out in the lobby where I could easily have given them a five wide, so I change the labels.  The next problem was that the Pork Rinds would not drop, just lean on the glass kind of like an early Bevmax.  So I move them down to B5 (which was B3) and do several test vends after installing a product pusher.  Every thing is good until I reach home and get a call telling me that the F-ing Pork Rinds are jamming up again.  In the meantime I get another call from a different account saying that the snack machine is not working at all, I had just replaced the coin mech in this one three days earlier so I'm at a loss for what might be wrong and popping open a cold one seemed to be the best solution at this juncture.  Yesterday on my way out to clear the great Pork Rind J\jam, I stopped by this account and realized that the board was working but the small money board was not (this is probably the only thing I got right all week)..  I finally arrive at the Great Jam and end up moving the offending Pork Rinds to the bottom row with the product pusher.  I test vend all twelve and everything seems to be working at this point.  This morning I pulled the money board from an AP7600 I'm putting a revision door on (another long story) and installed it in the AP6600 snack machine - fortunately this one's only fifteen miles away, and bingo, it works like a charm.

At this point I'm considering turning that golpher of a phone off and popping another cold one  ;D  ;D  ;D

PS, Does anybody know if the control board from 7600 will work in a 6600?

Sounds like a normal vending day to me B)  At least the trouble didn't come in threes.  Let me know if you need a new power board for your AP7000.

I'm thinking I won't need it with the revision door which uses a UCB board.

I figured you of all people new this, same board for AP 6000 to AP 7600.

To answer your question, yes same board.

Now all you need to do is buy VE UCB and fix them AP machines properly.

The only reason I asked that question is because the local tech who tipped me off about the money board didn't think they were interchangeable - but when I look at them, they're identical which was what I thought in the first place.  So now I have a backup board from that revision door machine.

I was just wondering... when you were printing off your labels using your P-touch... did you happen to have a cold on in your other hand at the time?  ;D

Even I don't drink beer at 7:30 in the morning  ;D  ;D  ;D

Sounds like an awesome day of vending. I've done the A2 thing so many times. One time a customer even told me that A2 wasn't working so I spent 20 minutes trying to get it to test vend, hahaha.  Where is the money board located on a 6600?

The money board is just to the left of the main board - it's about three inches square with three harnesses attached so it's a quick easy fix.

Is that the board stacked on top of the main board? I'll have to look this morning as I have a call-out for a separate issue. I'm thinking I may have to put a little Bailey's in my coffee this morning to make it seem like my day off.

No, it's to the left which is the opposite of to the right = if you drink enough Baileys you may remember which way left is  ;D

That little board is actually called the power board. It rectifies the power for the coin mech and validator as well as for the logic board. In the AP110 series this board is inside the power supply box.

Lets get moon some flexpacks lowering shelves and Antares too while we're at it

Put them in his dream account and give it to him with the stipulation that he has to keep those machines there

Hey Moondog, if vending doesn't work out, you could survive writing for a comedy show!

Maybe a comedy show about Vendors - lots of good material there  ;D  ;D  ;D
