Royal RVV500 Excesive Drainage

Recommended Posts

Good morning all. I have a Royal RVV500 that seems to be draining too much. It's in a YMCA gym so the temperature inside is regulated very well. I replaced the door gasket and removed the loading shelf because it was torn by the loading shelf every time the driver would close the machine. It seemed to have taken care of it for a little while but now it's leaking again. I haven't been to the account yet. I plan on going today asap. Just wondering if anyone might have any ideas on what else I could look for. Thanks in advance.

If it was my machine, I would definitely be looking for an air leak somewhere. It is usually caused when warm moist air gets into the machine and then condensates in the cooler cabinet.

You will probably always have more condensation in a YMCA than other accounts due to the high humidity from showers and any indoor pools. I don't think you could expect to have a dry drain pan.

High humidity in YMCA's like AZ says. Check to see if it is level. If it isn't door may not being closing correctly. Also make sure there are sponges in drain pain. And vendor is at least 4 inches from wall

Does the drain pan overflow?

Is it possible the drain hose is plugged up and the water found a different exit.

If you are sure there are no air leaks and the problem is high humidity, consider adding a heated drain pan.

The RVV500 glass front units were RICH in problems! Call Royal give them your machine's serial number and they will tell you all about the updates. Those RV500 had millions of deficiencies, refrigeration problems and endless updates. I had 3 cold packs fail right out of the box!

The royal website might have some help!

Thanks for all the input guys. I went back to the account and found where it seems the gasket wasn't seated good on the door (which was my fault) and reseated it. After closing the door I checked and the gasket seemed to be evenly sealed. So far, so good. I haven't had a call on it since. Keeping my fingers crossed.
