loach33 Posted March 27, 2015 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Love these overall but I have an issue. I just started using dollar coins in most of these. The one is set up as 25 10 25 1 5. DCA I think is the code. The $1 dispenser arm worked when I put it in but now it's stuck. But I get no error messages. Basically, if someone puts a $5 bill in and selects say a $1 danish. The mech tries to pay out the four $1 coins. you can hear it buzzing like it's trying but no coins come out. The problem is that it thinks it's paying them out so it doesn't give any change at all back. Again, no error messages. I put in a different cassette and it's the same problem. The dispenser arm on D seems to be stuck. Any easy fixes? Or something to look for that might be broke or out of place? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AZVendor Posted March 27, 2015 Share Posted March 27, 2015 You'll need to get the mech repaired when a payout arm jams like that. The only way to try freeing it is to remove the cassette and use the dollar tube payout button to see if the arm will work. If it does then try the cassette again. If it again jams then inspect the bottom coins and the bottom of the tube for a cause. If nothing is found then it needs to be repaired. PM me if you need a replacement sent. Some how a dime with some sticky substance on it was stuck in the dispensing arm area where it couldn't be seen. I kept pressing the $1 coin dispense button and eventually, to my suprise, this dime popped out of no where. Mech works like a champ now.... I don't think the weight of your $1 coin should be an issue... we use a $2 coin here which is the same diameter as your $1 coin but ours is slightly thicker & weighs nearly 2g more than yours & we don't have issues when fully loading the coin tubes. Chocolate Bar W / Nuts Posted March 28, 2015 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Oh yeah, also had an incident where 2 dollar coins were stuck together with some sticky substance and the dispensing arm could not pay out the dollar coin because the 2 coins stuck together were too tall to clear the bottom of the coin tube. You should be able to check the operation of the arm by doing this... I know AZ suggested pushing the D button but this function does not work on my mechs when the cassette is out. Although I am not very familiar with this specific coin mech, I learned to do it with the 4500 series probably over 8 years ago. Sometimes it's all you need to do to get the mech working properly again, but in all honesty, I haven't had one like that fail since I have been in business. chris in bc Posted April 3, 2015 Share Posted April 3, 2015 A one dollar tube has a blue bottom, not black, not red and not white and not green. It can only go into positon C,D and E. After you install this tube, you must empty out the coins and calibrate the mech and THEN "TEST" the mech. Load with coins and eject each coin 8 times. Turn the power off, wait 45 seconds and then re power. With the cassette out, wait 6 seconds and then press "PARK". This will re-park the fingers.
