How to update coin mech

Yep, that's wrong size. Get the complete heavy duty .50 mech, you can thank me later.

I agree with Kelly. We never fool with upgrade kits. That new mech is good BTW

I am really shocked that you guys don't upgrade/repair your coin mech's. Is it a time thing? I've got 2 drawers full of repair parts to repair or upgrade any NW or A&A mech. What do you do with your old mech's if you just buy new?

I do upgrade my NW mech's, but the cheap AA mech he is dealing with I wouldn't.

Time for us.  Most mech repairs can be done with a phillips head "coin Jam".  Other than that we keeps spares handy and replace when needed and honestly only a few a year fail.

If I pay some one to rebuild time off route, labor and parts I can but a new head.

That's the bottom line. I don't have anyone working for me okn my route, but if I did, that's what I would do.

I might throwthe bad ones in a box, but that's about it.

tried that actually before i attempted to pull apart! figured it would work lol

this is a learning experience. Don't listen to the ones that are using condescending remarks towards you or what your doing, but do take out of this experience the ones that are telling you their advice from experience.

Use this as a tool to learn for the future when buying equipment. Metals that are made in china are typically weaker. Even if they are made to standards, the base metal is not the same. I think it's in the foundry work they do, just an assumption on the process, but positive on the quality of metal.

Not every machine made in China is horrible, but none compare to the top 3 in the US (there will be debates to follow, LOL). What I'm getting at.......

Take the time your spending fixing equipment, put a dollar amount on your time, the parts and so on. When you do that, then figure out if going through all of this is worth saving 10 or 20.00. The first time repairing a machine is priceless in my opinion because of what you learn. I personally have to learn by doing, not by being told ( for the most part, there are lots on here that I just listen to)

After your first repair of that type of equipment you should have an idea of what cost vs. time and repair are.  Now you can decide for you if it's worth it to repair equipment or buy new.

For some on here, it's cheaper to buy whole mech's because they are busy or they have employee's and it's not worth it to them money wise to spend the time to repair a mech when they can just pull it and swap it out. Hourly it just saved them about 15-20min and that much in money, not including the training it takes to teach people how to determine what's worth fixing and not.

Just some insight.

Can anyone explain how to change out the 25c mech part for a 50c mech part on the smaller machines in this pic?

http://i.imgur.com/Kq9anbj.jpgI can't seam to get it apart. But I did get the back off just can't seem to get the center core off

IMO I would just buy a new coin mech with the new price point and be done with it. Yes it will cost more but the time saved is priceless.
