This might be a question for the site admins i guess.

I did a few post but don't see them anywhere.. In the forum rules there is no way mentioned they have to be approved manually..Probably this one wont show, but will give it a try anyway..

Is there any rules than i need to follow in order for my post to show ??

tks

I appreciate your patience but I do sense a note of sarcasm so allow we to explain a bit further.

Since we get far fewer good posts from new members each day than we get spam posts, we have found it easier to simply approve the few good posts than delete the plethora of bad ones after they've made it on the public forum.

Take a look around. This policy has managed to keep TVF relatively spam free. All we ask is a little patience from our newer members.

Also, this is not what I do for a living so your patience is very much expected and appreciated. I'll get to everyone's posts, including yours, when I can. Asking does not make the process an speedier.

Hi Caserri,

Being that my hobby are cars, sorry not Vending machines.. :)

Therefore, have joined countless forums, own a few myself maybe not as popular this one, but somewhat popular forums.

and Its been a while since i seen post manually approved by admin.. I do get it where you coming , my forum gets way too many spans, China and Russia are driving me nuts with viagra sells, which  in turn takes long hours of junk removal IP / Usrname blocking, and you name it.. I never did the manual approval as it becomes a time consuming..

Anyway, its your playground you set the rules, its just a bit frustrating not being able to thank people who take their time to responding to my post.

Thanks

Its been a while since i seen post manually approved by admin.

Its also been a while since anyone has been able to spam this forum too. A direct result of the admin approval policy.

  • 2 weeks later...

At our height on the Bulk Vending Forum, we were getting 35-40 "fake" accounts a day. It was like our captcha wasn't even there sometimes. Then the accounts would "lie in wait" a few days, then flood the place with spam. Considering the size of the forum here (and the astronomical amount of spam it must get), it's actually a rather clever idea on Steve's part. A little unorthodox, but you do what you've gotta do to make it work- especially where I think he's still running the show solo around here.

A day or two I guess, or depends how busy Caserri is.

I like to clear out the waiting posts list at least once a day. It can get tedious when you figure that most posts are spam and must be deleted so I have to wade through all the garbage to find the good ones. Rhett helps when he can but it can still be a bit overwhelming.

Then there's the reported posts that need addressing... [emoji15]

Also, like Alex said, the common tactic is for spammers to join and wait, sometimes up to a year, then they unleash holy golpher all over the forum.
