Product count, / weight, etc.

Ok, so when I am comparing different bulk candies, whatever they may be, I am a little confused on some issues. Most of them seem to be sold by the pound, which is fine, but that does not by any means tell me how many .25 vend there are per pound, as this will probably vary with the density of the product, not to mention the setting of the machines.

So if you have a pound of each of your favorite vending candies, which ones have the greatest number of proper-sized vends per pound?

And/or, how many pieces of product do you try to give out per vend? (which will of course vary a very lot by product type)

And how many pieces are there per pound of popular products?

With gumballs, it's pretty easy to count your cost / vend. 1 Ball = 1 vend. With other products, where you vend more than one piece per sale, how do you know how much weight, or cost, of product is vended with each turn of the crank?

Varies a lot on the price of the product.. Prices are subject to change over time so that affects pcs per vend.. There's a excel sheet in download sections on that. Also a bit of googling would do you good too

I've looked at several of the distributors. Rarely do they tell me how many pieces of candy there are in their 25 lb. or other sized bag, unless it's gumballs. When they do, then, how do I know how many vends I could get out of 25 lbs. of each product, and/or how many pieces a customer will be happy with when they turn that crank?

Looking for the download you mentioned. . . .

Thanks-- based on current prices and the U-turn settings list, Bonz, for instance, would be 7.71 cents oer vend, which is a huge chunk of 25--nearly a third. Very expensive, all considered. And that doesn't count shipping.

There are several settings in their. Each one tells you how much to let out. Its a guide, not absolutes.

I would suggest reading more. There are lots posts that go over how much to let out.

AA Global had peices per case for almost exert candy they sell.

Jimoutside, you are spending way way way too much time analyzing candy products!

First off, bulk vending is NOT the same as snack machine vending!  It is better to have a limited product line in bulk  (especially candy) rather than many many many selections that a snack machine would offer.

So keep it simple!

First, focus on gumballs rather than candy.

Second, spend more time analyzing toys (Fun Time mix would be a good start).

Third, Have at most one (and only one) candy product.  It should be non-chocolate.

Forth, recognize that multi-selection bulk candy vending is a FAILED BUSINESS MODEL with virtually no success stories on this forum!

Fifth, recognize that you can make some decent money starting with just 3 simple products (one gumball, one toy, one candy) and tailoring those products to the location.

Of course - just my opinion.  But have been THERE and done THAT (especially with candy) over the last 15 years of vending.

Beat wishes in your bulk vending pursuits!
