Foreign coins

Workman Vending

Anybody here ever try vending foreign coins in acorn caps?   You can buy them buy the pound for cheap and it's not something that I see around.   I believe it would be something that would appeal to both kids and adults.

If anybody does it, do you vend for .50 or .75?  What does your display card look like?

A large vendor around here vends them from time to time.  They have what looks like a homemade display "Coins of the World".  They vend them for .50.  Not sure how they sell.

Watch your mouth while you talk about our quarters!! Pfft Canadian banks don't even take US quarters ;)

LOL! Wasn't intended as an insult! Just can't use them here!

I've seen it done by some guys that must run lines up and down the Interstate. Truck stops mostly it seems. I did see a homebrew display once selling "Coins and Treasure" in a Tomy Gacha unit of all things at a roadside diner, but I don't recall what the pricing was.

I thought about giving it a try, but I'd need the right spot for it, and I don't have anything that quite fits the bill yet. If/when I do, rest assured I'll post metrics.

While perusing eBay I saw THIS little number. Looks like someone else tried it with a Victor 77 of all things. I guess it didn't work out (as the unit is for sale), but I would be curious as to how well it did before it declined- if that's even what happened. Interesting stuff.
