AMD Snacks Posted July 29, 2015 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Hello, sorry if this is a topic somewhere I can't figure out how to search for it. Anyway, a book I read on locating said to bring the machine in with you to every location, something about how when they see the machine it helps overcome some barriers. My problem with this is, my machine is half full of candy, and it's a triple head (All i have are vendesign and 1800 triples) So taking in a machine just to hear the owners not here, or we already have one, or talk to corporate, seems like it would tire a person out really quickly. Any thoughts on this, any experiences, if it's better I can try it, but for now i use a picture on a tablet when i mention what i'm trying to do. thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I always just have one with me ready to go, and when they say yes, or even seem a little interested, I go and grab it and if they like it leave it with them. You have success coming back later and placing a machine? My biggest fear is that if I do that, that they'll have too much time to change their mind. Never happen to you Performa? It depends on what kind of machine. If I'm locating traditional "bulk" gear, I've always got something ready to go, but I don't do that nearly as much these days. Probably should have stated that right off the bat before. Usually I'm after rack and full-line accounts, where pictures are far more valuable. For example, one of the machines I've got in the van right now is a NW60 single on a stand- which "could" be a placeholder, but I usually use it as a visual for what a rack would be like for those still trying to picture the "size" of the machines I'm thinking of bringing in. Full line of course is too big to cart around (at least at the size I'm at now) so pictures have to do. If you are locating singles, doubles, triples, or quad/carousel bulk gear, definitely have something in your vehicle ready to go the moment they say yes, even if it's only a placeholder while you get something else ready to go, as small-size bulk stops will turn around on a deal pretty quickly.
