RJT
I was recently at a fossil and gem show with my kid and thought these would be a good idea for bulk vending. A lady had a basket of small sharks teeth for $0.25 each and lots of kids where all about this ladies booth and that basket. I also know you can get bulk gems that would probably work well.I think all kids like rocks, gems, sharks teeth, etc. I found a couple examples of bulk lots. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Pc-Lot-Modern-White-Sharks-Teeth-Size-Range-1-4-inch-to-3-8-inch-/252088322638?hash=item3ab1a28a4e http://www.ebay.com/itm/5000-PCS-BULK-ASSORT-COLOR-MIX-GEM-STONE-ROCK-CHIPS-6-POUNDS-BD-15-/171923677799?hash=item2807732267
orsd
Probably has to be rotated often, novelty will wear off.
RJT
Probably has to be rotated often, novelty will wear off. Isn't that with most all items? At least with this no two are ever alike so kids might want to keep buying. I am not saying it is a great idea but thought it would be worth a shot considering it is fairly cheap and I have never seen it done in a machine before. From a parents prospective I would much rather give my kid a $1.00 for this than some little cheap china trinket.
mainor5251
I have tons of beach locations that I'm sure the shark teeth would sell. I've seen a couple 2" machines selling seashells.

IMO places far away from the beach would do better since every tourist trap at the beach sells sharks teeth. Might be worth a shot....
PerformaVending
Kinda like the "foreign/old coin" machines that were discussed a few months back? I can see that working pretty well- sharks teeth wouldn't be too expensive I wouldn't think- though I haven't a clue what supplier might have them. Capping them might be kind of a pain, but well worth it if you could get a good $1 vend out of something novel and inexpensive to you. I can see this doing best at places with a lot of travelers- hotels, truck stops, restaurants on the interstate, etc. Pretty much anyplace where you have a steady stream of new customers. Good thinking RJT!

Good thinking RJT! Check the couple of links in my post. Also look on Ebay for them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/200-Pc-Lot-Modern-White-Sharks-Teeth-Size-Range-1-4-inch-to-3-8-inch-/262039332250?hash=item3d02c2e59a http://www.ebay.com/itm/500-Pc-Lot-Modern-White-Sharks-Teeth-Size-Range-1-4-inch-to-3-8-inch-/252084316787?hash=item3ab1656a73
havending
SSM sells the gem stones capped. It's basically what started their bulk business and they still sell them.
