Royal vision 500 bottles dropping

Recommended Posts

2 times this week my account called and said bottles have falling and jammed the elevator. I get there put them back and retry and machine works perfect. Today i took the bottles on the top shelf and put them on the bottom shelf to see if that fixes the problems. The bootle sizes are 16.9 sodas

I have seen bevmaxes do this but bit Royal visions. I'm going to guess that the narrowness of the bottle, combined with their shape, makes them want to fall over more. As long as the machine is level, I don't see why this happens. I'm wondering if someone is tampering with your machine

The other thing that is a possibility is that your cup sensor is bad and it's pulling bottles too long. It will pull the first one in, then partially pull (or completely) the second. This is difficult to diagnose if it is intermittent though.

Can you verify no one is shaking it?

Well i doubt they are shaking it because they still cant get the product that does fall. The cup sensor maybe but this machine was just at another location for a year without any problems until i put these tall narrow 16.9 sodas in it. Hopefully moving the bottles to the bottom shelf will solve the problem.

The early RVV had springs behind the product labels when the springs fail you can have this symptom.

Royal decided it springs were not necessary and stopped installing them.

When you pry off the label holder there are 2 cup and 4 small gears the spring can send flying. The cups and gears are necessary. You must not lose them!!!

You can tell if your machine has springs by pushing back one of the pushers behind a product.

If you have springs the pusher will harder to push back and try to return to the front of the machine by itself.

If not about the same force in both directions.

Also the pusher is also a common failure item so look at part of the pusher that holds it in the track it may be broken there.

If this is your problem you will find the fallen products are all coming from 1 or 2 selections.

the selection pusher does come back by itself, not sure what you are saying is broken

Having taken many of these trays apart, I can tell you that there is a spiral rod that is attached to the plunger receptacle at the front and the pusher plate at the back.  If you pull the front plate off, you will see the Constant Force springs which provide tension to the pusher plate.  The parts in there are minute so be very careful about losing them.  When the cup arrives at the selection to perform a vend, the first thing it does is extend the plunger mechanism into the receptacle and the motor then turns the spiral which controls the rear pusher plate forward until the product has been pushed through the gates.  As soon as the product arrives in the cup, the cup sensors stop the the motor and the cup returns to the vend port.  It's unlikely that the Constant Force springs are driving the product through the gates by themselves so I suspect that your problem lies in the cup itself continuing to drive the product forward after the first product is in the cup.  At this point, I'd pay to have a tech come look at the machine as it may be a simple timing alignment to the plunger that will solve your problem short of buying a new cup assembly.

One last thing, make sure the deck and spiral rod are spotless or you'll have other problems wit this machine.

all good info, only thing that gets me is this machine has been problem free until i put these 16.9 sodas in it. hopefully moving them to the bottom shelf solves the problem

Yep,  the only problem I've had with mine was too much gunk in the spiral was inhibiting free movement of the rear plunger.  This happened when I first got the machine on location but after a thorough cleaning mine's worked fine ever since.  It's a neat system once you figure out how it works but if the timing is off on your plunger, switching positions probably won't help.

explain timing of the plunger please, i can check it tomorrow. thank you

Sorry, never had to do it but there may be a control board function that controls this as it seems your motor is running a little long intermittently thereby releasing an extra bottle occasionally

  • 2 weeks later...

So is the problem of the falling products always coming from the same selections numbers?

If so remove and clean the pushers and spirals when you reassemble leave out the springs.

nope different selections, but i went threw the machine with tech support. I noticed every time something was vended it went to the port door and didnt drop into door it had to try again. so i recalibrated the x port door latch closer and it vended fine every time. maybe what im thinking is the machine would not complete a vend and would end up with product still in cup and someone tried to vend again, but im still not sure

Yes miss calibrated port could drop a bottle.

Make sure the L/R pulley is tight in the motor shaft.

Remove the fuse and see if the cup moves smoothly left and right. The first symptoms of a failing motor are that it the motor will not move freely unpowered and will not hold calibration.

Please note bad cup rollers are common failure items.

If it keeps dropping bottles you may need to put it on free vend and close the door and vend 200 or 300 bottles so you can see a failure.
