Is this a good investment?

Debating on taking over an exsisting route and wanted to know if it would be a profitable investment, or a waste of money. This would be my 1st route

How do I add pictures? I wanted to post the Listing of the ad for the route

If you need to make some quick screenshots, I recommend GYAZO, it's fast, free, and resource light. Stupid name, but they got the rest of it right for the most part. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. ^_^

This is hardly a "route" but is simply 3 locations.  The machines are decent.  I say decent because the USI is an older model as it the DN 6 select can machine (DN276).  The best machine is the Vendo V540 because it's multiprice and capable of selling bottles and cans.  The last machine is either a Royal or a Dixie Narco (the seller can't decide) and it's possibly multiprice but impossible to say since it's set up with one price.  The seven selections means it's got 8 columns but the Coke door makes the top selection button control both columns 1 and 2.

The sales are horrible and is likely why he says you can move them if you want to (of course you can).  The sales, using $450/month as an average, is $5400 per year.  However, because he doesn't say what his other prices are you really have no idea what his margins might be.  You can really only value this by the equipment value and under no circumstances would I pay more than $4000.  Realistically the machines are only worth about $3000-3500 so that is what I would offer - including any coin in the coin mechs and inventory.  Negotiate from there, but remember that you'll need to find better locations for them.

Be very careful on the location, as everything almost is oilfield related there as it is in Louisiana and a bunch of my locations has laid-off, cut-back.

I managed to secure a few more locations not oilfield related.

Hoping to survive this turn-down here in our economy.
