Good Day of Locating

I scored two Barbershop locations. One has been around for 52 years the other is just a month old lol. A world of difference but I am glad I got some more machines out and pulled a slow one. While setting up my machine at one location I had a woman stop in the middle of traffic and asked if the vending company was hiring lol. I only have 21 locations and before I would ever need to hire someone I'd need to pay my dad haha. I'm glad my dad will never ask to be paid because I would owe him a lot.

Sounds good dude...you still doing toy doubles in your barbershop locations?

You've inspired me to try barbershop again, I sort of shied away after several less than positive experiences. ..

I am, the one that has been in business for over 50 years is a toy double and the other is a single gumball. There are a lot of kids that go to the one with toys. The barbers there do traditional haircuts shaves etc but also do custom design haircuts that kids love. You really need to I haven't had a bad barbershop yet.

Yeah if you do toys they normally want a cut. They already have candy/gum which provides a convenience to their customers so offering toys isn't a convenience, it's an added benefit having something to entertain the kids there. I don't mind, it;s a high kid traffic area and it will still put money in my pocket. Also if they are getting a piece less likely to kick you out and more likely to let you know if your machines aren't working etc. I strive to get no commission accounts but sometimes you have to do it.

Also if they are getting a piece less likely to kick you out

Sometimes this isn't the case.  In some circumstances if their commission isn't enough to make it worthwhile for them, then they will kick you.  I've had that happen a couple of times; whereas if it's a slower charity/non commissioned spot, they just see providing the space as a favor rather than a business opportunity.

For my pop/snack machines I usually give 10% if they require something. If a gumball machine does 30 bucks a month, 10% is 3 dollars. I couldn't imagine writing a 3 dollar check. Do you guys give more than that? I'm getting ready to place my first candy machines, a couple side by sides this week! We'll see how it goes!

What do you mean by "worthwhile"? You mean like psychologically they'd rather have nothing vs $3/month?

I've read on this forum about some people that just pay every few months to make it a $20 check vs several smaller ones, not sure if that is practical since then, the location would have to trust that you'll pay honestly...any commission guys have any thoughts on that approach?

Because I also don't like the idea of small commission payments....
