Chkoolaid1
Hey guys, I'm looking at purchasing my first tall machine. Looks to be around 5 feet tall, the guy says the lights work, and that as far as he knows the only thing that's missing is the lock for the top. He inherited it and doesn't know much about it. I do full line vending, and only in the past couple months have begun learning bulk with 10 beavers so I'm very inexperienced when it comes to these. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Thanks for the help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PerformaVending
Looks like it's missing the top and maybe the back door (unless that's it on the ground). It's a Magic Disk Man from Magic Vending, so parts will be pricier than other spiral manufacturers. Does he have a picture of the front? I'd be curious to see if it still has it's chute covers, and what condition the mech is in. Spirals are fine reliable machines for the most part. Their earning potential is a little better than a standalone single head gumball machine, but with a lot more space and flash. They need a space with pretty good traffic- there's a LOT of gum locked up in the globe, and you'll need to sell it down pretty reliably to keep it all from turning to rocks. As for buying a spiral, I would really advise you to keep looking- even if this one is a screaming deal. Complete, route-ready spirals are pretty easy to find, and crop up pretty regularly on Craigslist and eBay, especially now that garage sale season has started to kick in. The machine as presented doesn't look too bad, but I know you can do better, without having to invest in parts right off the bat. Whatever you do, good luck! Chkoolaid1
Wow! Thank you for that response! He has the top, I'm not sure about the back door? Oh garage sale season makes sense now! I haven't seen these on cl before but now 2 have popped up this week. He said he just inherited it and is asking 175, if he has the back door and everything else works do you think it's worth it for that price? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The "going" rate for a route-ready spiral here is $200. It varies somewhat across the country. If he has the top, and it's just a matter of locks that's not as big of a deal, but I don't know if it's worth $175- still need info on the mech, as that's the key component of the machine. I think I should have listened to you and my wife, but when I went to see it my inner 8 year old self lost control and I bought it. However, I got it for 150, and everything works! When I went to check out the mech (he never got back to me on information with it which is why I never posted anything on it, I asked he either skipped it or missed it) it turned out to be a mech I was familiar with. It's a beaver mech. I'm guessing that these aren't standard with magic machines and that I ended up with a flashy frankenstein machine? It seemed to work fine with the several dollars worth of quarters I put through it. I posted a picture at the bottom of the machine from the front. I would love to get your opinion now that you know it's a beaver mech and the cost. If it was one I still should have skipped or if I got lucky, either way I would love to know! Thank you again for all the help you've been! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

PerformaVending
Looks to be in good shape and complete. $150 for that isn't at all bad. Good buy!
