QuikVend
When I was picking up my latest haul of equipment, me and the other guy were talking about some of the things we're working on. I had told him about all the machines I had and how I wanted to try and get them placed soon. He told me he had a friend who did a set-up similar to the pictures and he was making decent money for each gig he did. https://flic.kr/p/HjHcjq https://flic.kr/p/HG6JpN Its funny, I saw a guy selling a few of the mall kiosks that were already loaded on trailers and thought about a similar idea a few weeks ago. Any body ever try it or think about it? Or maybe know someone who has?
Chkoolaid1
Those are awesome! How much was he asking? Set up like that I would definitely try the whole mall thing. If one mall doesn't do well roll it up and move on to the next. I would even do a couple of the fairs in the area to see how it does. QuikVend
This one was on usedvending.com. I don't remember the asking price. The guy I talked to said his friend would go to fairs and festivals and make a few hundred dollars. I know the mall kiosks are out there too. Not sure how well they really do. parrotthead
I used to think about taking a setup like that to a local flea market, they have a ton of foot traffic. The booths are $25 each
QuikVend
Yea, I have 2 flea markets nearby. 1 is huge. Their rates are way too high though. It's a mixture of indoor and outdoor. The smallest indoor booth is $185 for the weekend. I don't think I could pull that off. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
parrotthead
This is old country market and people come from miles around but it only lasts half a day
QuikVend
Ah ok. This one is huge. 12 large indoor buildings, people setup on sidewalks and 2 covered outside buildingso. Lasts 9-5 Saturday and Sunday.
PerformaVending
I had considered something like this once, but as a portable setup you have to keep moving it from event to event and up here in Wisconsin, that's like three months of use out of the thing, if that. In warmer climates, or places that have pretty regular auctions, flea markets, or fair events, I can see something like that doing really well. You wouldn't need a big trailer or anything either. It is a very interesting idea, that's for sure.
QuikVend
Yea, I've just been kicking the tires on the idea. I've looked around Craigslist a bit and looks like I could get a trailer for around 3-400. Clearly I have the machines already lol Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
musser
Malls have very expensive rent. I have a friend that has some machines mounted on a trailer he pulls around to the bigger county fairs. Makes some money but there are always issues. Travel time, vandalism, rain, don't forget rain.
QuikVend
Yea, I would imagine malls charge a pretty penny. I was thinking mostly fairs, festivals and flea markets locally. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
BouncyBalls
I'd rather eat a turd with a hair in it than fill those up with candy only to pour half out every couple weeks because they got too hot or rained on ect ect. Doesn't look like money or fun from where I sit.
QuikVend
Yea, I wouldn't go extreme like that, I would say something like an oak 300. Those would be a pita for multiple reasons Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Determined
Would you do candy or toys? I could see toys working for something like this. I could see the idea working.
QuikVend
I was thinking a mixture. I know toys would be easier to work with. Maybe put a 2 tier setup with a few 2" capsule machines on top and put 1"/candy/gumball on the rest with a change machine thrown in somewhere. I have some flat vending machines as well that I could toss on somewhere.
mainor5251
I thought about making one a while back using a merry go-round kiddie ride but never got around to it because I just don't see it as a good return on investment.
QuikVend
Yea, like I said I'm just kicking it around right now. I already have plenty of other projects I'm working on, not like I need another lol. But I think I could get it done for around $500-600.
