Swampgas
Like I posted in the welcome forum, my elderly father in law lost his wife on Memorial Day. Since then, we have been helping him put his affairs in order. We discovered a group of vending machines in storage. He purchased these in 2001, but his health declined and he wasn't able to service them. We found the paperwork from when he bought them. Out of an original 22 machines, there are 14 left (he lost some due to a fire, theft and vandalism. I was wondering if y'all could tell me about these machines, maybe what they may be worth (if that doesn't break any rules.) I apologize for the pics being sideways! I don't know why they turned out that way.

I don't know why they turned out that way. Sorry about your family's loss. The first machines are called Shootin' Hoops and are pretty good machines that can make a fair amount in a decent spot and are very reliable. I'm not sure what the other machines are, but they look like some sort of Chinese machines. I may be interested in some of the Shootin' Hoops at the right price - where are you in the country? Around here in California I've seen those Chinese machines go for around $50 apiece on Craigslist, but I can't say that I've ever seen a Shootin' Hoops on Craigslist here. PerformaVending
The last two pictures are of a 4-sided unit manufactured by Candy King Brand and a few other importers, usually under the name "Carousel" as far as my research goes. They use knockoff Northwestern parts (a good brand), so they can be upgraded relatively easily, and vend a variety of products. I'd put them on par with the "classic" U-Turn in terms of overall quality and value. The Shootin' Hoops prices vary from place to place by availability. Up in my neck of the woods they're more rare, so they command a higher price. $200 each is about where they start here. Check Craigslist for "vending" and "gumball machine" to see if you can find anything similar- that should give you a ballpark on pricing there. The Candy King Brand Carousels I'd price between $50-$75 each, again depending on your market. If you want to move them fast, group them together for a reduced price off of the individual unit price- that's usually what convinces me to buy a "lot" of machines versus a few individual units. If you'd like, feel free to drop an ad or two in the classified section here. Odds are good there's a TVF member in your area that'll be willing to give you a fair price for them. Be careful using any parts you think might be Northwestern. Banetrain gave me a bunch of these and I took all the parts out and trashed the bodies. The brush housing did not have the notches on the bottom that is needed for use in a Northwetern machine. They can still be used but you have to use screws in them whereas you normally wouldnt have to. Also the gear on the coin mechs were all on backwards. Again, that can be fixed easily. Just be careful and be sure you do many test vends.
