Gumball vs candy

Not sure if this is a gumball issue or a triples issue. But as I've been changing out my peanut m&m's to reeces at some locations due to complaints about m&m dispense amount...I've had 3 locations tell me "you should just change out the gumballs, no one really goes for those"

This has got me scratching my head for two reasons. 1. They'd rather have a low amount of PMM over gumballs 2. Why are people passing over the gumballs?

They're not lying either, my gumball sales always trail behind my candy, at all but a very few locations. I'm not sure if i'm giving people too many choices, or how you other guys are selling so many gumballs.

Tomorrow I was going to downsize a triple that's just too much for the location with a M&I and gumballs double, but i'm wondering if I should just do M&I and Reece's instead. Any ideas? feedback?

I've had the same gumball scenarios. My gumball locations all seemed to do awesome for the first 2 months. But any longer than that and the sales on them greatly decrease and the candy went much faster. My theory is that they try a couple gum balls and they realize how fast they lose favor and lose interest.

I did overhear some employees mumbling something about gumballs loosing flavor after 5 seconds on one of my machines. I just so happened to be changing those out anyway, so maybe you're right.

But some of my locations are open to the public and have lots of foot traffic, not the same people everyday, and they still don't sell gumballs as much as M&I

I would totally be down for changing flavors often if that did the trick. I'm going to place my first double with MI and GB tomorrow in a  hardware store, we'll see how the GB do.

Some places don't sell GB as well. Try chickle tab gum- that sells better with the adult crowd than with kids.

Gumballs have sort of an ebb and flow for me. The COG is so good though that even if sales aren't as strong they can still theoretically make more money than a faster-selling pan candy.

Swapping out flavors (or even just the display cards) can give it a jump too. I've got a couple different DB cards that have different background colors, and it does seem to move better switching between them in some spots from time to time.

Good luck! ^_^

Are you selling the gumballs from sams? Try a different brand i.e. ford or bubble king, see if they like it better. All of my locations have gumballs 150+ some of they have just gumballs
